what is with these gas prices

I dont know about anybody else but, I think these gas prices are outa controll and I cant stand it. $35 to fill my tank, that is insane. I have to drive every day, and even with a cobalt, I have to fill my tank every day. I know theres nothing we can do about it but, its some bull, and I am not made outa money. However what realy sucks is the price of oil drums has went down, but the gas prices still rise, why? That does not make any sence to me at all, although at the same time I am glad I dont drive any of them gas guzzlers, or else I would be in the poor house, right? right.. But hey mabe someone out there could explain whats going on with our petrol, or even if it has a potential toll on the economy, whether its positive or negative (although i doubt it will be positive).

Well I don't know how much you drive but I put on roughly 400 miles a week (full 7 days) and I get about 360 or more miles to a full tank...so I fill up a little more than once a week...if it's that big of a deal...go buy a scooter and get 150+mpgs...if you can't afford to drive...sell your car and walk.

Ever consider tuning your car for fuel efficiency? Like the XFE tune or something?

A lot of people are always whining about the price of gas. No one is making you buy it, if you don't want to pay the prices then walk or take the bus

Maybe it just doesn't phase me that much because when it was at like 4 bucks a gallon I was driving a big dumb SUV...I mean yeah it sucked but...I have to drive...so...And now that I average about 30 mpgs between my highway and city driving...I'm pretty pumped...that's about double what I used to get...and it used to be about a 17-18 gallon fillup as opposed to my usual 11-12 in this thing. But like I said...if you don't wanna buy gas...then don't

the canadian dollar is worth less than the american dollar, LOL

$1 USD = $1.51 Canadian

so @ 2.41/gallon US would cost roughy $3.62/gallon in Canada.

Oh dear you don't follow the market do you? Our dollar hasn't been that low in comparison to the USD in years, and yes, I mean years. To make things WORSE for us our dollar is damned near on par with the USD (closed @ 0.97 cents the other day) and is projected to be on par if not surpass in the near future and hover there for some time. So we get raped even harder the higher our dollar goes using your logic .

You musta turned up an archived thread . Let's see if I can help out here:

Cost per Litre (91 Octane): ~$1.10
Number of Litres per US Gallon: ~3.785 Litres
Candian cost / US Gallon (roughly): $4.1635

So at this point, we're already paying essentially double. For the benefit of the doubt, at the current exchange rate:

$4.1635 * 0.97 (exchange rate): $4.0386 / US Gallon

Final verdict: We get raped
