Woodward Dream Cruise 2009! We getting together or what?
#176
I just left work not too long ago and already saw a Black SS from Ohio on Woodward...I beeped and waved lol.
My work parking lot was empty but then again its South of 696...however its always an option to meet at...tho its too late now I'm sure heh.

so are we meeting up? i was thinking about going up there this morning when i got outta work at 5am and sleeping in my car for a while, then my girlfriend got the day off so i decided to come picke her up and i don't know what the heck to do now. I doubt there will be parking up there later. How early do peole start cruising? It would be awesome if someone lived up there where we could bring over some stuff to grill up and have a few beers.

Hey dream cruise was great. I hooked up with some cobalt guys that i met around here and we cruised until they shut the street down. Saw a ton of beautiful rides. (old and New) this was the first year i went and i think i'll cruise earlier next year and find a spot to chill and crack some beers next year. i saw a couple ss/sc 's up there one orange and one red.

red and dark blue! I had the Imperial Blue, don't think any of the black ones had a sticker. You should of saw like 5 Cobalts in a line though! We definitely need to get together and cruise Woodward again.

Yeah, It was pretty crazy this year everyone. I just wanted to say sorry to those of you that did try and come out and weren't able to meet with us. I hope you still had fun though.
On Friday around 6pm, it was soo busy and everything was blocked off so of course we weren't able to meet anywhere near Pot Belly. I talked with Joe (07BlackSS/SC), Alan (Shibito) was with him, and so was another Black SS/SC (Jason). They found an empty lot over on 12 Mile @ Main just a little down main from National Coney, where I had met up with them. I had two cars rolling with me (Francis) in his red SS N/A, and his friend Nick in a 5dr black SVT Focus. We ended up driving back to National Coney & had dinner and Nikki (RadtasticNiKKi) met up with us there in her black SS/TC. So from there we hit up Woodward and for the most part were able to cruise up and down together in a single line. We must of had about 7 balts driving @ that time.
Then we got off right before the the cops cleared out Woodward and chilled in a parking lot right @ Woodward & Webster and watched the massive police convoy clear out. From there Alex (2008CobaltSSTurbo) & Greg (black SS/SC) Met up with us and shortly after 11pm we rolled out there 2by2 and had some real fun! We all met back up at the Mobil one, I think 13 & Woodward, and Bryan (06Black) was also there and we all met and hung out there till about 12:40am. Some guys went to the races in Detroit from there, but for the most part I think it really worked out.
On Saturday I was down there walking around from about 11am-5pm but we kinda had enough of the Cruise at that point and left for home.
So for next year now with this experience, if anyone wants to do it again, and we'll take into accord everything that didn't work out. And maybe do something similar for next year's cruise! We'll also get everyone's phone #'s to make things easier!
It was great meeting everyone that did come out, and was able to meet up and for those of you that couldn't make it or couldn't find us, if you want to try and do it next year I'm sure we'll all keep in touch. I made a list of everyone that was down there from this thread and I'll definitely contact all of you next summer.
My Balt's lease ends next summer so hopefully I'll be riding in a new SS/TC by next year's Dream Cruise!
Also keep this thread around for anyone that wants to meet out @ Woodward some other weekend!

So any pics?!
It was nice meeting everyone. Sorry I had to bail early (when you guys pulled off on Webster)...it was fun. When we first turned onto Woodward, this guy was like, "thats a lot of black cars!" lol...too funny.

Looks like you guys had a good time. I planned on going down in my balt on saturday, but instead friday night my drivers side wheel bearing decided to make this wonderful grinding sound. I had to go in a 78 corvette instead. i saw a blue ss/tc and a couple black ss/sc's. there was also what looked like a 12 year old kid driving a new si.

Yeah pics look good! haha getting the balts going down Woodward 2by2 was great! Never will forget it.
Now that we know what not to do for next year, I say we start planning on it like next June! Maybe even consider doing it like in the middle of the week instead of the day before the cruise... We'll figure it out.
