When you use lowering springs on your car, its only a matter of time before you blow out the factory struts because of bumps, potholes, etc. And when you replace your struts because of the poor ride, your probably going to be at, or above the price of springs and replaced factory struts.

So, with this setup, you can not ONLY adjust the heigth, and lower it as much as you want, and not worry about blowing them out, but you can adjust how stiff/soft the ride quality is as well.
I agree completely. What's the warranty going to be on the parts included in this setup? Specifically, the shocks/struts...

These have a good spring rate, which allows for much better cornering and handling, while not being too harsh to drive on.

Keep in mind, that you have full control over the dampening of the struts, with 30 adjustments from full hard to full soft to your liking.

Cobalt LS, Cobalt SS, doesnt matter, you can adjust it to whatever heigth you want. If you want it stock heigth in the front, and 2.5 inches lower in the rear, no problem. if you want it lowered 2.5 inches all the way around, no problem. Takes about 30 mins - an hour to fully adjust all corners.

Im suprised you have wheels but havent lowered your car.

Warranty is 90 days, and the most critical piece, which is the gas cylinder inside the strut body, if it ever blows outside the warranty period, can be bought for $100 directly from BC !

So, nothing to worry about, its a great setup. I have the prototype BC coilovers on my 95 Dodge Neon, and the prototype BC coilovers on our 2005 Chevy Cobalt SS and both are working great.

Youll be happy with this setup and you DONT have to worry about the warranty on it !

Sold. We'll see where I stand after X-mas and Tax returns. I have to get my engine/tranny mounts settled first before I tackle the suspension. From there, I have some flexibility in my plans. This is absolutely what I was looking for in a suspension upgrade...

You would have been billed yesterday, or today.

i've hade springs on my car for over a year and 23000 miles later, no problems, i think people that have problems with there struts "blowing out" it would be their own falt, in not driving over bumps better.

Excellent!
Ill have to find the thread you posted!

Fwiw;
Our website doesnt have them listed right now, and is a little out of date.
HOWEVER, we are about to release our new shopping cart/website in the next week and they are listed in the Cobalt section for sure there!

Been awhile since this threads been touched, but I did alittle research on BC since I haven't heard of them and am looking for a coilover setup. I found "BC Racing", as they are known, make MANY other suspension systems and components for other, "more well known companys". The reviews that I found were quite informative and on a positive note, especially from some that have experience with other systems. Just google BC Racing for some info.

I do have some questions for ModernPerformance.

1: Are the strut plates adjustable for camber, (can't tell from picture), if not, are camber plates available? (I would prefer camber and CASTER adjustment, but that seems hard to come by)
2: If I needed a heavier spring rate, how hard would that be to get different springs
in the future?
3: What did the wieght difference seem like between the previous suspension and the BC setup, BC lighter
or heavier?

I know my questions may seem like a PITA, but I do take those things into consideration.

P.S. Do you have them in stock?

Sorry its taken me a few days to respond to your questions about this.

1) These are not adjustable for camber, or caster. Very very few manufacturers will make a coilover thats adjustable for caster, and when they do, they are expensive, and 98% of people who buy them cant even take advantage of a caster adjustment coilover. Its just way too complicated to setup, and adjust.

2) Simple, the springs are kept in stock in the USA, and run $100 per set of two. So, you can get a different spring rate/set altogether for the entire vehicle for $200 total.

3) The Bc coilovers weighed 13 lbs less than the factory suspension setup.

Quick Reply: Cobalt Coilovers $999 have arrived! Pics!
