Engine swap

Hi all, I have a 2005 base model cobalt and just today the engine blew up on me while on the freeway. I want to install a 2007 2.2 engine, I know i will have to replace the computer and wiring harness because of vvt but my question is will it fit? Will there be any clearance issues with the new engine? Reason for not going with a 05 or 06 engine is because i want to turbo it but the computer cannot be tuned on the 05 06 engines. Any info is appreciated.

Its not worth it brotha. You would basically have to gut your entire car and rewire it. The 05-06 base 2.2 our just not worth the trouble. You are better off selling the 05 you have for parts. Save up and buy a decent condition ss supercharged cobalt.

Nope exactly and the 05-06 2.2 can't be tuned. Just not worth fixing in my opinion.
