i never quoted that i knew a lot about cobalt's let alone cars . i did say i knew that weight plays a big factor in a race.
now thats all i wanted to know but someone with an ego had to say to go and buy an ss
he could have bought an ss but decided against it because he wanted to build it up not be a ***** and buy it.
its called being a car enthusiast. i would rather know i built my sc400 than say i bought the car like it is.

Wait a second, that was an actual picture and not just a very ugly girl found through a google search, dear God! I'm very sorry for your finance OP.
Also there is no way a base cobalt no matter what you do to it is going to beat a SS even stock (not the fake 2.4 SS). I have an LS and would know, I've dropped way more money into it that I should have but oh well it is what it is.
I actually did pick up a good turbo kit for under $800 but the difference is that I'm aware of all the supporting mods I need, even getting most of the stuff initially cheap doesn't mean it's going to be a cheap build. Especially when there is a decent change the EFR I have needs a rebuild and I've got to put in a clutch.
I don't really care about ever going much over 300 HP but what are all the problems that are had with the LS balts. I've got the LAP and I have no intention of ever sleeving it since it's a second gen block. At some point I'd love to put in a LSD and rods and pistons can be picked up for about a thousand.
Lastly can only mods add tags?
