My 2008 Cobalt Sport
Hey all!
I'm Eric and I have a Blue Flash Cobalt Sport. Bought it brand new in 2008. It's a daily driver for me, but after 7 years, it was time for some upgrades. Had no idea how fun and easy it was to upgrade/tune. As a fighter jet mechanic, it's nice to work on something a little more low key and get more enjoyment out of my Cobalt. The car came stock with 171 HP. Not sure what it's rockin' now. Below are the list of mods so far.
Injen CAI
ZZP mid-length header
ZZP 2.5" downpipe (400 cell cat)
ZZP PCM tune
My future mods:
Larger fuel injectors/re-tune
Slotted brake rotors
Racing brake calipers
I'm unsure about adding any sort of boost since I have an LE5 engine. Not looking to blow up my engine from excessive compression. Maybe a low-end turbo might be good. Gotta say though... These mods have rekindled my love for this car. Almost traded it in for an SS2 Camaro. Haha! It's now fun to drive again. Glad to be apart of the Cobalt community!

I really like the SS Turbo. GM did a good job with that LNF. I'm keeping my car for sentimental reasons. I'm not looking to be the fastest Cobalt in town. Just an "Average Joe" with a slightly faster Cobalt. It's miles ahead faster than it originally was. Sounds great too! I just got bored with the stock HP. Felt like if I'm going to mod my car, might as well join a public forum for tips and ideas.
