Smile New member 2006 cobalt ss/sc looking for a dd build

Hello! I am a new member. I have a completely stock blue 2006 Cobalt SS/SC that I just recently bought and am looking into doing a few mods for some decent power for a daily driver. My goal is around 300 HP.

Here are the mods I am thinking about:

M62 2.8" Pulley and Hub System
GM Stage 2 Belt
ZZP LSJ Dual Pass Endplate Kit
ZZP LSJ S3 Cobalt Heat Exchanger
OTTP Option B Kit w/ brackets
OTTP LSJ Stainless 3.5" Cold Air Intake
NGK 1 Step Colder Plugs (BKR7E)

Still trying to decide whats best for injectors...
80lb injectors (E85)
or
60lb injectors (91/93 pump gas)

Also wondering what gauges I should get?
I was thinking about getting a triple gauge pod

Also wondering what exhaust setup I should get?
Currently is all stock except an aftermarket header with a cat delete (done by previous owner) (no CEL)

Also I am considering a meth kit and LS4 TB...

AND OF COURSE A TUNE!

PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR OPINIONS ON WHAT I SHOULD DO, THANKS!

what you have was basically my build when i had my m62 on, just recently went TVS.

For 300whp i would make the following changes to your list:

- 3" CAI, 3.5 is is not needed

- 80's and E85

- I have the zzp 2.5" catback and love it, best sounding exhaust for the lsj. .. get the resonator.

- ZZP Shorty Header and DP is a good combo. GET THE CAT !! ( the cat is in the dp not the header, just so you know)

- No need for meth if you have e85.

- Stick with the LSJ TB.

As for gauges ... the Interceptor and Wideband are a necessity to monitor your car. I have an AEM WB ... i also have a Manual boost gauge as well, swapped out the stock one for it.

Thanks for such a quick response! I'll consider the 3'' CAI. I have been reading around, 3.5'' is probably more for the TVS. Why get the cat? Any advice on the shorty shifter mod or STG mounts?

Catless on LSJ doesn't normally sound very good from what i've heard. Hi-flow catted sounds better and still gives good gains.

The cat is to kill the rasp, u gain 1hp without it so its not worth the horse **** honda sound to get rid of the cat. Highflow and ur good to go. Powell stg 1 trans mounts and get a new stock lnf rear trans mount from rock auto. And ur set. As for the short shifter this was my first mod i went with twm but there are cheaper alternatives now. Ottp and bps both have good ones i hear. Dont chop tha stocker .

for exhaust im looking at:
zzp shorty header (1 5/8" primaries with 3" exit flange)
zzp 2.5" or 3" downpipe (200 cell cat and 2nd o2 bung for wideband)
zzp resonator
zzp 2.5" or 3" catback exhaust

couple questions i have:
does the zzp catback exhaust come with a resonator?
and what size dp and catback do ya'll recommend?
