ZZP also has a supercharger kit with everything you need.
ZZP can also send you a tuned ecu that is plug and play so you car will instantly run fine.
It works off of a refundable core exchange program.
It is a bit more expensive but you know what your getting and you know it will run well after install because they can send you a tune for the setup. Additional gains can be had from an actual dyno tune.
Its $2,250 for everything
The turbo kit that uses the KO4 from the 08+ ss is $2,700 shipped and that includes the ecu price. I believe its 5lbs of boost.
If I were you I think you would enjoy the turbo kit more for the money. But that's why I gave you boths options.
Good luck

You can find a used sc kit on here for around 1200. not trying to be rude, but if you don't know the difference in engines you should do alot more research on this forum before you jump right into it. It will just give you a better out look on things

That website seems legit. About the supercharger kit, it says stage 2 and I'm not to sure if the stage 2 kits are sold out because for the turbo kits you can select stage 2 and for the supercharger kit you can't ? Also if i do end up installing a turbo kit stage 2 kit would i need a better transmission or anything else?
Looking forward to posting pictures and post about my cobalt in the future!

Stage 2 is for some serious power, to actually use that turbo for its level you would need a built motor, upgraded fuel system and probably a stronger transmission(assuming your auto, but im not sure how strong the transmissions are) just to name a few upgrades.
Your talking about a 400whp capable turbo.. That's really not what you need. If your serious, stage one is what you need.
Stage one turbo kit would be plenty for what you want. Unless your really serious about spending big money on a build.
If you just want a fun peppy daily driver the stage one turbo is you best choice, and should prove very reliable.
Its the turbo that comes on the 08+ ss cobalt. The kit is only 2,700, and comes with all the instructions for install. But if your not experienced its recommended to have it installed.
If your really serious about this you may want to contact zzp at their customer service email. To set up shipment and core exchange program for the tuned ecu
You can save money sourcing parts on here, but you know what your getting with the zzp kits. Hope you figure out what you want. Post some pictures of the car and tell us what your plans for it are.

Yea I'm thinking about using a stage 1 turbo for next summer and if i want ill upgrade the year after.
When i do order the kit all of the part are brand new I'm assuming, that would be better then buying used parts in my mind. My car has the LAP engine 2.2 ecotec and I'm wondering if all the parts for the lsj would fit on my engine because I see alot of parts saying lsj?

We all had to start somewhere. No ones born with mechanical knowledge.
Just read around, plenty of good info and builds on here. Your also in the new members check in area of the forum.
If you were actually going to do this then you would typically start a build thread. But don't start another thread until if/when you start your build.
Him putting a turbo on his daily is better than seeing him buy a civic and slapping a catless fart can exhaust on it and going down that path.
But im guessing you guys have see this thread a few times lol
