I just can't justify buying a used car. There's two reasons to get rid of a car to me. One is there's something wrong with it and the owner doesn't want to deal with it anymore, aka my old Cavalier. Second is they couldn't afford it so they didn't have money to take care of it. I realize there's others, but my used Beretta starting on fire is a good example. The depreciation is something to think about for you, but remember I drive my cars into the ground, so their value is **** anyway by the time I get around to getting a new one.

If your credit score is good enough, apply for a 0% APR credit card. Even if it's only a few months of 0%, put something on it and pay it off by the time 0% runs out. That's what I used to do with all my big purchases.

yes you forgot, high miles, trade in and oh new car...trade it in.

well I didnt want to sell the ms3 I was forced to and I was forced into what the insurance gave me. so its not like I had a choice really. So say if my SS gets totaled tomorrow. Luckily I paid way under msrp but I havent even made a payment on it. My car will depreciate fast as hell now. I'll have 20k on it by the end of the year I bet. I dont plan on selling the SS or the ms3 but when its totaled you dont have a choice.

I always have my used cars checked at my mechanic, its only $100 bucks. They saved my ass a couple times when I was shopping for a sable and the vibe. They actually found a pin hole leak on the vibes cv boot...which I ended up getting then warrantying that. but anyway yes theres good and bad points to getting a 2nd car..Id rather not waste money but if I could keep the SS out of snow that would be nice...Id also save a crap ton of miles then. Cuz I could just drive the escape to work all the time and save the SS for weekends.

i have trouble buying a used car as well considering what could be wrong with it and everything but it's hard to say that's true for every car. i can afford my ss and i love the car and there's nothing wrong with it but yet i'm looking to sell it because i want a corvette and although i can afford both it'd only leave me with about $100 a month of extra money so if anything came up i'd be effed

you'd have more money if you sold me your stockers

where has ryan been? how goes that intake mani?

I'm still around. I pm'd you about the mani, its getting worked on. i'm just waiting

i've been to busy with work/cars/auto-x that I haven't been able to post much. I stop by and read whats going on, but to tired to make any sorts of posts lol

in the last month.
Drove to Iowa on a saturday
auto-x sunday, then drove home 7 hrs. friend had to drive in 4thall the way home because trans wouldn't stay in 5th.
stayed at the girlfriends house to watch the house/dogs (which is 20 mins north of where i live, which makes my trip to work about 1-1 1/2hrs)
bought a car on a monday, took the engine out on tuesday, put the engine in another car on wednesday, sorta tuned it on thursday, auto-x at dctc it on a sunday, broke it (kind of)
then spent this last weekend with a friend who left for Iraq on saturday. and then went to brainerd to watch the MAP sport compact shootout
all this after my usual 55hrs of work a week

lets just say I'm tired.. and still got more work to do on the desinated "race" car
