I drove to Bemidji through that nasty blizzard we had earlier this year. I was driving on unplowed highway and was fine.

I was forced to go with 18" because there were no 17" rims that would fit my car at the time I bought them. The smaller the better with snow tires I believe is the rule.

I plan on buying my tires from there...and then if Ryze still his those 16" Saab wheels I on putting them on those. If not, I'll just go with the 16" Steelies from tirerack. If I remember right most people were going with a different tire size than what tirerack recommends but I dont remember off hand what the numbers were.

blizzards are not the "best" winter tire. I'll get you a list of recommended ones.

Here are the recommended ones from CR. I have never owned a Blizzak set and only have bout the top recommendation which was higher rated and cheaper than a blizzak and never had a issue. I'm not saying blizzaks arent good, I just find their stereotype annoying and there may better tires out there.

Id recommend buying a winter performance tire. As you can see by test results they are a better all around winter tire. My ms3 had eagle ultra grip gw3's and we had more snow than the TC's and I never got stuck.

Ahh looks like the blizzak is the recommended winter performance tire this year. IMO if I was purchasing tires this season I would get the recommended blizzaks as first choice then the conti ts810's as a second choice.

1. Blizzak hasnt been #1 since I have been winter tire shopping in 4-6 years. Hell the last 2 sets I've bought blizzak wasnt even in the top 5 best tires
2. its a 2nd place, but recommended
3. its still more expensive than #1
4. hahha cuda...i hope you are happy with hello kitty

Jeff did you play COD5 with that scope sticker I gave you?

I only bought them since my friend with my Evo bought them. He researches the **** out of everything and I trusted him with it. They are #2 but they have better snow traction, which makes them a better snow tire to me.

i got a set of blizzak tires and a set of steelies 2 winters ago on tire rack for $250 or just a bit mor than that and they've worked great for me for both winters and i'm about to put em back on next weekend for this winter. i highly recommend them for winter driving. didn't matter the weather condition and what was on the ground, they've worked amazingly well. i haven't had trouble gettin around and i haven't felt my car slide on ice at all. not a single complaint from me about the blizzaks and they were a great deal with the steelies

I just rented the new Batman game to entertain me during tomorrow's snow storm. I try to avoid driving the first real snowfall of the winter as people need to remember how to drive.
