It was an IE download window. I can't lock the server because the server is their only computer. They use it for schedules, email, etc. I know it's a bad setup but it's how restaurants work. I did it remotely. I'm not driving to Willmar to do a 10 minute software install.

the seat in the SS still feels weird...Jeff sit in my car and move the seat to where yours is..I cant get it right
Autoupdates take a long time and dont get all updates and are usually not good for a server. They also require a reboot thats usually forced.

The computer really isn't a server. It's just a beefy desktop that runs the point of sale. We only install high security updates as they come out because updates can break things. There's nothing worse than a restaurant point of sale going down because people don't have plans for it.
If I let my hair grow long enough, my sideburns look like pubes. I hate curly hair.

lol what?! are you sure you live in the real IT world we had some older servers get a update that required a reboot...well once HDD's spin for years they dont like stopping..so we lost like 3-4 just on brining back up the machine. If its a "mission critical" server updates are hardly ever done. When they are its a big deal and done at night or a weekend were less users get affected.

If you had a "mission critical" server running on shitty hardware, then you need to fire your I.T. dept/person.
