My 2006 Redline, came from Minnesota, the Infamous RL it was known as.... yea, now it get to be driven year round in the beautiful SC weather. Thanks ecotecturbo, your old car is well cared for, still @ 42K, and 31 mpg. In fact, I got my first kill last night, a real confident Z28 had the door shut on its face last night

An idiot?
There's an 08 black coupe in Owatonna for only $11.5k...75k miles...I WANT!
It's too bad it's only a year newer than my car and has nearly as many miles. If it were a 2010 for $13-14 with around 50k miles, I would do everything in my power to get it.

lol yea,an idiot would. in a way i wish i woulda kept my pick up truck.
i traded my cobalt LS in on a 01 silverado..well during winter it wouldnt shift into 5th gear so i traded it in for the SS/TC. its a bitter sweet thing, having a car for good gas mileage but a pick up truck is nice to have to haul my wheeler and sled around.
i love my cobalt, dont get me wrong but at times its a bitter sweet thing.

That's why I will be keeping my Cobalt for a LONG time...since I paid $12k for it back in 07, I know it's worth $4-5k now if I return it stock...that's probably asking a bit for mine...who knows. But it's not worth selling, so it's worth just keeping as a DD for a very long time...especially since I've put this many miles on and haven't done any repair work to it yet.

It's sad though, I'm pretty sure I paid more than I should have. Probably could have gotten one new for that price since I bought it June 18, 07 with 12k miles on it and it was previously a rental car.
I was in need and didn't want to waste a lot of time looking at different dealerships...bought it at Luther Brookdale and for my price range I had two options for Cobalts...that or an 06 red LS with more mileage for a little less. Why get an 06 with power options when I can pay just a $1000 or so more and get the 07 with the 5 year/100k warranty....I think I made a good choice, but then again, I never used the warranty for anything anyway...nice piece of mind though.

I'm curious...opinions wanted. Constructive criticism accepted as well. I was thinking about it tonight since I was up all night and I want to try and squeeze a little extra power out of my car if possible.
Would it be possible to tune for E85 and see decent performance increases on my car?
I'm talking about with just CAI, LSJ TB, 2.4IM, header, dp, cat-back. I sent Vince an email about getting my retune for the LSJ and 2.4 along with mentioning I changed out the header and dp. I asked a couple other questions and I also put that question in there about whether or not, there might be an increase in power (significant enough to do it).
So would I need larger injectors? I found a thread from March of this year in the L61 section regarding it in which NHanson responded to the person.
What I'm confused on is the injector connectors. I wouldn't want to rewire anything. I most likely WILL NOT be going FI in the future, but it is possible. I know EV6 is what I need, but looking at ZZP's site, the options I see are: 33# AC Delco's, 40#, Siemens 60#, Mototron 80#.
Could I get away with the 40s or would I need at least 60s?
I'm thinking the hell with it, I might just have Vince tune me for E85 and buy the injectors this week along with the ZZP LSJ Adapter plate.
I need to have everything done and ready by the 22nd though because of the dyno day. Plus it's my DD and I want to make sure it's up and running for me every day as well.

One more question...stupid question really, but I just don't know the answer.
SS/TC sedan...do they come with the RPD or a single gauge?
I keep considering the 2 gauge pillar from ZZP but I only want 1 for an Interceptor. I have no use for a second or third gauge (well not yet, but probably never).
If so, anyone looking to sell there's in favor of getting more gauges?

so, meet this month? like say the last sunday of the this month? we would have to pick a central loc for people to meet up, unless like a park or something would work better.

Yes E85 is worth it even N/A.

I just got a hold of Vince and I'm going to do a datalog for him with where my car is right now and we'll see what he says about the E85. We'll see what happens by this weekend. I'm going to try and get the datalog done either tomorrow or Thursday for him. Hopefully I'll hear back from him early next week.
I want to be all done with my upgrades and tune before the 22nd to see what happens on the dyno.
I shouldn't need anything else besides the injectors and tune for E85, should I? Or will I need different plugs?
I'm sure it wouldn't be much of a difference in power, but if I could gain a few hp that would be nice. On the other hand, if the mileage isn't too much worse for the price difference between premium and E85, then it may benefit me there saving money on a weekly basis (won't know until I get more info from Vince and figure out what the mileage difference would be). Also, haven't been paying attention to the E85 prices for quite some time...are the differences between premium and E85 very much anymore?
I remember the last time I really paid attention, E85 was somewhere around $0.60 maybe $0.80 less than regular or premium (can't remember which)...but that means it's been at least 2 years since I really paid attention. According to some reading, 20-25% less economy with the E85 which isn't bad as long as the price difference is what it used to be (probably not that much different anymore though)...and on the off chance I could save $1 a gallon, I'd be doing better for sure by switching.

premium ends up being cheaper in the long run. if you're not boosted, you probably won't get any KR at all, and that's the reason why most boosted people run it, because it doesn't ignite until about 1600* instead of 1400 like gas does. you can run more timing with e85 but the gains on an N/A car are so small, it's not necessarily worth it because you'd be spending more on un noticeable gains in the long run

That's what I'm trying to figure out. If I could get a 10% gain in power (which even at my power level isn't much, but is better than nothing).
If I could for a fact get 10+% more power and the gas prices are at least $0.50 difference still, then it might be worth trying. Could always switch back. That's why I'm talking to Vince...to see what he says about it.
I'm fine staying with premium, but I'm curious all the same.
Either way, this will be the end of me doing anything to this car. FI just isn't worth the cost and risk for my DD. Because I would keep pushing it further and further with smaller pulley or who knows what.
Performance wise I'm where I want to be with it...it's decently fun, but not fast by any means. I wish a cam would be an option, but it's not...and of course if I did cam, then I would do head work. It handles great and the only upgrade I might make is with Powell's new springs and maybe some Koni's.
Appearance I'm not changing. Sound system is what I want...Pioneer DVD with HD radio (need to install the HD still), Boston speakers and just put a Boston G5 10" in today.
Every aspect of the car is pretty much done. The only thing I would really like to change is get a different set of 17's for next year. I got a cheap ass set of 17" wheels with decent tires for $100 a couple months ago because my steelies were worn. The 17's are ugly as ****, but I paid $100 and I'm sure I will get that or more back in the spring when I sell them. Oh, and replace the front bumper since it's fucked up from someone backing into me in a parking lot. Nice square hole from a trucks trailer hitch.

So is anyone interested in going to MAP on 9/22 to check out the cars on the dyno? There may be a spot or two available as well if anyone is interested. Like I said, $60 for three runs. Time slots are 25 min intervals.
Looks like this so far:
1. 10:00 - Picklz - 02 Corvette z06
2. 10:25 - 007CobaltLS - Cobalt
3. 10:50 - Adam - Miata
4. 11:15 - SOMC6/Nick - EVO VIII
5. 11:40 - Allan '02' Miata
6. 12:05 - Hayden - Miata
7. 12:30 - JT - Vette
8. 12:55 - Matt8478 - MS3
9. 01:20 - OPEN
10. 01:45 - Devin - Buick LeSabre
11. 02:10 - Hayden - MS6
12. 02:35 - Kunz111 - '87 RX7
13. 03:00 - Tony Tesch - '06 Mazdaspeed6
14. 03:25 - Dick - TT Viper
15. 03:50 - Phil - Silverado
I'll probably only stay until 1 or so. The only car I would like to see after that is the TT Viper, but I am probably going to head out after the 2nd Vette or the MS3.
Let me know if you want on the dyno, otherwise maybe I'll see someone out there...would be nice to meet a few of you and see your cars.
All the people from MN I've met are pretty much no longer part of the forum...
