that dyno sucked. the numbers were really low, 20+ low. i only dyno'd 196/207 which was kind of dissapointed, but i found that my tune isnt the best, the car is breaking up real bad so im going to take it easy til HPT comes out for me and curt and tune it.

all i gotta say to everyone is dont get worked up about dyno numbers.... cause thats all they are is numbers.... no 2 dynos are alike... some read high some read low... what I see them as is a tuning device if anything. theres a controlled machine to help with tuning and thats it... if u see number improvements then u know ur tuning right.
now the numbers that matter to me are at the track.... speed being one of them... u can pull a 14 second pass but if ur speeds are 130mph obviously ur having issues but it tells you how fast your cars potential is.... I trapped a max of 122mph turboed int he 1/4 and my car weighed 3400lbs thats easily low 12s high 11s

The dyno operators could have set the dyno-jet to "happy" and inflated everyone numbers but what's the use of that?

what it comes down to me when i went to dyno I went back to the same one... not for the numbers but for the information to see where i sat. if i started with a base of 200hp and then go back with some upgrades to the same dyno and see 230hp then i know i had a decent increase cause i have the same information. now my factual hp may still be undetermined but I do know for a fact that I gained 30hp.
put it this way... I went to one dyno that was a dyno jet and put down just over 500hp with my turbo setup on 30psi.... well later on I went to a different dyno just to show my stuff off and put down 453hp on 24 psi. yea its still unprecise as to what i put down but everyone drooled just to see the numbers.... now when i went to the track I made a couple passes just to see my speeds to see where i was. i trapped 122.273 mph now thats a factual number i can work with... with that number and knowing the exact weight of my car I could get fairly close to my hp numbers. but then there comes the other issue. torque. torque is what gets you to that speed. hp is what keeps you at that speed so its really never true to know exactly where the power sits cause all the measuring tools used arent the same.
fine example a stock cobalt ss/sc can run normally a mid to low 14.... and i know from weighin my car before the big stereo and dynamat it weight just over 2800lbs....
now my diesel silverado I had with a power programmer weighed just over 6000lbs and only was recorded to have around 380 hp with the programmer i had... but I had over 800lbs of torque. now thats were my track times came from to pull off a mid 14 with a truck that weighed over 2 times its weight of a cobalt and only had barely over 2 times its hp rated from the factory. but it boiled down to my torque that was 4 times the amount of a cobalts which helped me get that tank down the track.
