ive got a different meet to go to on the 15th.. n the weekend after is fall break so im heading home for that.. so the rest of october looks kinda booked for me, not that i dont wanna come

Thanks, but I'm looking to buy through a dealer. I have a POS 2006 VW GLI I want to trade in. And I'm not crazy about red. Or yellow... There's a blue one I'm trying to get more info on but the dealer hasn't e-mailed me back yet.

you better beat those dealers down in price! They like to charge so much more for a car. When I got mine I told them I was willing to pay just a tad more because of the reassurance I get from getting straight from the dealership but not 5k more!!! I talked them down heavily

was that in the past few months..cuz i saw a yellow one for sale at Wolfs (or whatever the new place is called) on HWY 23 about 1 mile east of HWY 57

 

It was like 4 months ago or so. I got it at Van Horn or whatever its called. And I'm a little ticked off because I bought it with 18.8k on it and when I looked it over I wouldn't have even thought to even look at the brakes because I mean come on 18k? Thats when I heard some sqeeking I thought it was a wheel bearing and they checked it and all was fine. I couldn't hear anything till the other day when I heard the same sqeek, so I called them up and made them send me the paper work stating they had already looked at it. Then I took it to a brake place to look at and the ******* rotors and pads are garbage!!! 4 months I have had this thing, there is no way I wrecked the pads that quick! They were absolutely shitty when I bought it I guess. Oh well live and learn and even if it is low mileage check everything! ******* $240 later.

 

I.brought up the 9th because in earlsville Iowa there are drag races going on and i wanted to see if anyone wanted to come with me, gates open at 8:00am $40 to race i think need a legit helmet as well. For more info Google earlsville raceway, or tri-state raceway I think its called.

 

Those are some expensive pads... or was that cost due to installation? I hate how places rape you for brakes and other repairs. If nothing goes wrong, it takes me about a 1/2 hour or so to put front pads on a car using only hand tools. And pads are between 20-50 bucks usually. So I don't understand why places charge so much.

im already going to this meet.. dont know if any of you guys are interested but its definately more "central" than iowa lol.. its on the 15th.. n even tho it wont be all cobalts, there are some pretty sweet guys that show up with their other GM cars (which is always neat to look at other setups imo).. should be a pretty decent turnout already so if any of you guys wanna come it could get big??

You should make a short drive over to Road America on the 14th. There will be lots of different kinds of street cars out there including a SS/SC.
