Hey guys i know im new here but i know im always down for a good car show. and i go to this one each year out in oakfield (family friends of mine set it up each year). $10 reg fee, they do the whole trophy thing, raffles, and food/drink, its split up by year also so if we get a lot of balts im sure one of us will take home the trophy lol. I know its a drive out there but it has a good turnout. a lot of older cars but i think if we can get enough balts out there we may change how people look at car shows and get more modern cars mixed into more shows.
if anyone is interested its August 4th at the Oakfield high school, 8am-2pm. we could meet up somewhere and come in together then possibly do a drive out in the country afterwords. if you have anymore questions feel free to send me a message.

Gps says that's an hour and 47 mins from my house. So like an hour and a half the way I drive. It could be a possibility I could go!

what ******* lawyer do you use lol? I use a guy name Franco or some ****. It's $75 a case and he almost always gets the points dropped, but not so much the fine. I'll get you his number in a bit.

Lawyers will usually save your ass when it come to getting tickets reduced. They help get rid of the points against your license but you still have to pay the original price of the fine.

this only works if you don't have a bad record already lol. Ask me how I know? If you have a few tickets under your belt then get a lawyer

With mine I would have lost my license for 3 years and not be eligible for an occupational license for 1 year. My job requires that I have a valid driver's license. Sooo.... yeah...

This sunday? Ugh, I don't think I should go to another one so soon. I just went to one this last sunday. I still want enough left on my tires to hit up an autox in august and september and possibly another RA track day before the season ends. I will be doing a poker run tomorrow in the hartford area with a muscle/classic car club. I might be a little out of place

what time does it start at? n wheres the run going? I'm bored n looking for something to do tomorrow

n yes this sunday.. if your tires are really that worn out after only this summer, you should look into getting some longer lasting ones.. not even lasting a summer is rediculous considering your circumstances

Sorry I didn't see this sooner Matt. It started at 10:30 and went to bars near the Pike Lake area, like Hartford and Slinger areas. It was pretty good, there were about 25 cars that showed up.

Yeah but the amount of stuff I've done with the tires I think this is pretty normal. If I get 8k miles out of them and another 2 or 3 auto cross events, and another day at RA, I will be more than satisfied. My buddy with the srt4 didn't want to buy stickier tires either so he picked up some KDW2's instead at the beginning of the season. Well last weekend autocrossing in triple digits, plus having the power to spin them out of every corner, he accidentally wore them down to the wear bars already. I'm just saying, if you buy tires to hold your power so that you don't spin them all the time, they will last longer than less sticky tires.

oh i know what your saying.. but longer lasting sticky's is what I was getting at.. they seem to be out there

but then again RA is hard on tires, so it makes it hard to judge tire life off that

Update for the meet for August 19th at Racine Zoo. We will be meeting at the HWy 20 Shell Plaza off I-94 at Hwy 20. We will be leaving there no later than 8:30 am to be at the zoo by 9:00 to ensure enough parking room for us all to be parked together....I am hoping for between 8-12 at least of us ecotecs to be cruising in there together. Here is a map of the route we will take from the meet up spot to get to the zoo.

Check in over here to make sure we get you on the list and for further updates.

From my experience so far, autocross is harder on the tires than RA, but RA is harder on the car in general than autocross. At RA there is only a handful of turns, and I know in 1 lap of autocross there's enough turns for 3 laps at RA

Speaking of which, I changed my oil this weekend and was just looking around under the car while it was draining, and I noticed that my TurboXS dp has like no corrosion on it. Its been on for 8k miles, no winters though, but I figured it wouldn't be as shiney as it is. Then the next thing I noticed was that from the top flange down to the bend of the dp, it was bright blue. I know the metal has to be almost glowing red before it discolors like that, so how hot have I gotten this thing that the dp is blue? I'm thinking the only time I've been WOT for long periods of time was at RA. The 1.25 mi front straight followed quickly by the 1 mi second straight. That has to be it, its the only time I'm WOT more than 1/4 or 1/2 mi because I just run out of room on the road. This little turbo sure knows how to build heat.
