I read on this site that SS/NA's fit on the TC by a hair which may be just as desirable as TC's and SC wheels do not fit.

I cant remember what tires you had...worth making a deal for my enkei's with half worn DW's?

I was at Road America earlier this week and had a blast. Aaron, I went 2 off in the kink at 105 and that is a little scary with 2 tires in the grass. I can't even imagine what you went through. Here is a video of a few laps.

Why not put the TC wheels back on or dont you have them? I have some 17" G6 wheels with tires not sure if they fit but your welcome to them. I wouldnt mind the PF01's I have my bbalck wheels and stock TC wheels. let me know I'm close enough that we wouldnt have to ship anything.

I told my brother-in-law to say HI. He had his Miata there. What class did you run I could hear everytime you came up on a slower car.

I ran in any group that I wanted. Put an "I" on the car but mainly went out in C&D groups. Did you brother have the dark blue Miata with the dark colored numbers? If so he was forced to get new numbers because it was too hard to see his numbers.

Might as well throw my vid here too. Craig, I do believe I pass your brother-in-law in this vid, on the home front.

Alright well here's what happened with the car. They ended up cutting me a decent check for the whole thing, wheels and all. So the car and the PF01's are gone. Sorry to anyone who messaged me, I was trying to either get them back so that someone else could enjoy them, or get the insurance company to pay me adequetly for them. They did the latter. So if anyone is looking for a mint SS/TC with <18k miles on it and a set of PF01's, keep an eye on the auctions in the Milwaukee area here the next few days/weeks. They told me they expect it to go for like $8,000 though.

After all the negotiating with the adjuster, here's all the take aways I got from all this (I'll probably make a thread so that the community better understands what to expect if they've never totaled out a car before):
  • It's actually worth more if the car is in really good condition. The fact that they couldn't find one dent, ding, or scratch was worth an additional $700.
  • Same goes for the interior. Keeping the interior very clean and smoke free was worth an additional $200.
  • If your tires are 5/32nds or below tread life, they will actually deduct money from your appraisal.
  • Having additional coverage on your car isn't what you think it is. They pro-rate everything based on your original invoices and invoice dates. A $1,200 set of wheels is still worth $700something a year later. Having $1,000 listed on the policy means that they will only pay up to $1,000. If you don't keep the invoices to prove the price and date, you get nothing.
  • Keep all of your invoices for dealer installed stuff or aftermarket stuff if you have additional coverage. Anything added on by the dealer at any point (GMS1, sport pedals, etc.) they will also pro-rate and put towards your vehicle's appraisal. I believe I got nearly the full value back for the GMS1 parts and labor. If you don't keep the invoices to prove the price and date, you get nothing.

Glad you persisted to get a fair check. So what's next on your vehicle list?

I'm not exactly sure yet I've been asking myself that question for the past month. To be honest, I'm probably just going to end up buying another low mileage Cobalt SS or maybe a Sky/Solstice Redline/GXP. I'm looking at getting a new motorcycle here too, so as much as I'd like something like a Z06 or ZL1, I'll probably avoid borrowing and just get a SS and a bike.

Tempting...

My dilemma is that I love the Sky's front and sides, but I hate its rear end. I love the Solstice's rear end, I like its sides, but I kind of hate its front end. The first thing I would do with a Solstice would be putting a front splitter/lip on it so that it doesn't look so... round . The downfall to the Sky is that the KBB value is automatically $2k higher for a Sky vs an exact same Solstice.

As for the bike, I was looking at new FZ6R's.

Get a GXP Solstice and put the RK Sport front lip on it. The bigger question is are you going to hop back on the horse and ride again or are your tracking days over?

You explained my thoughts on the soltice/sky exactly...
The book on the TC and '03 600 are dirt cheap for the amount of fun they are... and I highly recommend getting a used bike with scratches because it's only a matter of time. Good hunting
