you are welcome. Enjoy it!

Guys and gals I think I found out the reason why my car runs like **** sometimes. It's ******* overheating!!! I asked Mike(stardize) if Vince tuned my car to have the option b and dual pass on(because when I originally got the tune I said that I would be doing those things eventually). Well money is tough right now so I really don't have the exact few hundred bucks to get that ****. I have been monitoring it lately and it is saying my consistant temp when I'm driving normal is like 190 and if I'm sitting and not moving my car gets up to 205. I can see some smoke out of the hood when it gets that hot because I think the coolant is leaking out of the overflow(to much pressure). IDK alot about this but if I were to guess it would most like be my thermostat? Maybe its sticking? Because I also notice that it says its like 20 more degrees on my dash then the temp actually is outside? Anyone think they can help me out? I have the phenolic intake spacer but I don't have the means to install it myself without help. Plus I really wanted to wait till I got the dual pass and option b before I put it in because then I would just do everything at once. But I'm seeing some people running 2.9 pulleys even TVS without any extra cooling mods(just a heat exchanger or something, but no option b or dual pass) and they are just fine? So does anyone have any suggestions for me? Or would anyone like to see it in person to help me out? Could it just be the tune or what?

205 doesn't seem to be to hot in my opinion. I've seen ny car hit 220 at idle before on hot nights. What intake temps are you seeing?

And your not throwing any codes?
No vacuum leaks?

I don't know intake temps. How would I figure that out? No codes but back before the tune I was throwing the p0071 or whatever that intakes throw. And just a few months back it was running shitty and then threw that code again, but it went away after a day or so. No vacuum leaks that I know of? Maybe I just notice things more?

Because when my car is running good man oh man. Lets use my boost guage for reference, when my car is running amazing to get ok power enough to just drive around(at my pace lol) I would only have to go up to -10lbs or so(it starts at about -25lbs or even -30lbs when not on the gas or just ever so slightly) and my gas mileage was much better. But now when it starts to run shitty I need to go to almost 5lbs just to get it to drive remotely the same way and my gas mileage really get hurt.

Plus its a bitch to drive it like that all jerky and ****. Can't seem to take off right(because I would have to give it an abnormal amount of gas which I can't get used to because the car drives great then all of a sudden shitty, which is why I thought it was a heat problem.) What do you think?

Idk that's weird, I'm gonna have to think on that one. If you have an interceptor gauge you can see what your temps are. Only thing I could think of doing off hand is hooking up to hptuners and running a log to see if anything looks out of the norm. I know that my car will run a tad rougher before it hits operating temps, but is fine once it warms up.

Umm negative 20-30 on negative vacuum pressure is way to low, you should be idleing at about -15. -17 and maybe -19 while in gear coasting...... You need to be data logged and or hate to say this but maybe you need a retune. Your car is going to feel jumpy at first at start up. I normal don't drive my car til is hit 120* and would never boost until car hits 180*. If your t stat was faulty I believe the factory are a fail saft so they would fail in the open position. Sitting for more that a min or two and seeing your car climb to 205 or 215 is normal exspecially if your fans arnt coming on soon enough. I reccommend having your fans 100% all the time constant on. That's how mine is set up. Clean your maf. Make sure it's not faulty. Check your injectors make sure one isn't static or have sediment built up on the Injector at the end of the rail. Your car needs cooling mods!!! Does the car always drive this way? Or only after being ran for a while? One where is this smoke coming from? That's never a good sign. How many miles are on your spark plugs? gap at .27 .28? If not make them that. Hope your not experiencing what I had happen to me when my motor popped a cracked cyl wall and a blown out ring landing? Time for a compression and leak down test bro... Start with a compression and leak down test! Just what I would do.

This is the best I can show you of the boost gauge to show you what I'm talking about.

Just fast foward to 1:15 to see what I'm talking about. That is when I pull away just like normal and look at the gauge having to go to 5lbs just for normal engine power.

Oh and my car drives like this after it warms up. See that's the thing when it is cold it drives fine it's when it warms up that I start to notice it.

Honestly I think its the tune. retarding timing or something to be safer or something? Because my car never really did this before the tune? But there could be alot of factors that could be in play. I don't have an interceptor gauge . I should have went HP in the beggining.

My fans usually turn on around 205 or something. I seen some smoke coming from the hood and I smelt a little coolant. I checked and the coolant was low. I didn't notice a leak or anything so I just filled it up some because I thought it overheated and that was just the overflow. So I filled it up and it has been fine ever since(then was a week or so ago).

I'm not really good with doing **** myself because I'm afraid of breaking ****. So I'm afraid to take off the MAF myself at least without someone there that has done it before to at least tell me if I'm doing anything wrong or not. I don't know anything about injectors or whatnot. My car only has like 30k on it so there shouldn't be that many miles on the plugs. IDK what they are gapped at? I'm assuming stock?

I have all the cooling mods except the dual pass. I could get that for around $80 shipped but I just don't have a ******* dime to my name right now. And I have no way to do a compression test?

If your losing coolant you motor is either digesting it, or you head is lifting from to much cyl pressure, maybe a head gasket on the way out. Will for the video you vacuum is low and not normal in my opinion. And I'm not shocked how it drove away you just did a pretty good pull....heat soak. You need more cooling mods than a option b and front mount in my opinion I can ask my friend if he wants to do the compression test for you.

Thanks a ton man. Yea I have a front mount and that intake spacer too. But I don't have the intake spacer or the option b I stalled. I need the dual pass first.

Ok that sounds better. Well if you want I can't prob get my body to do a compression text for you. I think we can do a leak down too not sure ill have to ask. I can prob data log you as well long as trifecta doesn't have your PCM locked. Could least see whats going on. But I would def change your plugs to ngk bkr7e's and gap them to .27- .28. Clean your maf. And the injectors are easy to take off and inspect. Makes me wonder if all the limiters are off on your car. Not only the trouqe limiters but that the intake scaler is correct and at the correct frequency, along with the limiters in the throttle body are off, that will make the car feel like a turd!

Dude I need to look at my car. I know it's easy stuff I just am really Leary about ******* **** up. I didn't even want to put my intake on lol. Wouldn't it be a pain to put plugs in? I have never done them on this or any car actually lol. And I remember on my cobra you would have to basically disassemble the whole ******* engine to do them lol

Oh hey. I was out there on Saturday, but didn't see you. We were at Oscars, except for like two laps around 10:30.

I saw Derek, two other silver ones, and a yellow base model. The yellow one pulled into Oscars and looked at my car, while we were all standing a little bit away. The guys circled it, proclaimed "Nah dude, it has a turbo!" and then took off... Meh.

^^^This I don't even like going up there anymore lol Maybe just for a run back and forth just once but that's about it, but I would never race anyone up there anymore. If they want to do a run I have places for that :-)

Yeah we were in the lot at Oscar's for like 3 hours just hanging out and watching traffic. Eventually did like two laps around for fun but didn't really see anything. I didn't see any of the other Cobalts but I was focused on not crashing into the back of my friend who was l ahead of me with no turn signals.
