i just gave the business to a 2004 jaguar x-type awd lol.

dude works in my shop and he was sayin his jag is quick and yada yada yada. so i told him lets run but he admitted that from a roll id prolly get him but a dig he would kill me. well too bad we didnt have a chance to do a dig so a 40 roll is what we did, i started in 2nd gear at 40 and he has that automatic sport shift thing so im not sure where he started. but as soon as i honked it off 3 times and hit the gas it was over. next time its from a dig

when the hell are you going to race something that actually puts down 200+whp? seriously man, stop messing with granny luxury cars.

my parents have that kind of Jag, it's only a 2.5L v6, yea it's slightly "quick" for what it is but it's only putting down MAYBE 170whp. they do have a 3.0L v6 but that's only like 25whp more. plus they are much heavier.

i'm going to set you up with some races.....

so he's maybe putting 180whp/170wtq down

awd is horrible from a roll. rolls are for bakers & fat chicks. race him from a dig. you'll eventually catch up to him.

so I went and picked up my car yesterday from the dealer (just had the clutch replaced) and the new one feels completely different. what in the world. the old one was relatively stiff the whole time I had the car, but this one feels like a toy and when I drove it home it shuddered terribly from a stop in 1st. this is getting ridiculous. the shudder got less noticeable as I drove more, so I'm thinking maybe it just needs to break in the new clutch....anyone have anything similar happen?

no, turns out I didn't have to have it replaced, but they took apart the transmission just to check it, retards, so they put a new one in anyways since they had it taken apart...don't ask me, I just wanted them to check 2nd gear. lol. but hey, I'll take a free clutch. the problem I see is that this one feels like the clutch out of my friends civic si, not like the clutch I already had, so I'm a liiitttttlllleee worried.

they showed me the old one and it looked fine, but they said since its warranty work and they removed the clutch, the new one was going in no matter what.

yeah, it's a little weird, but they do need to be broken in? this is my first new clutch in a manual transmission car, so I've never had to break in a clutch, I kinda figured it would have to be broken in though. so that could be all this is?

yea, it could just need to be broken in. there's alot of different views on break in periods, i say 1k miles or mild/typical driving and then another 1k of slightly aggressive driving. then it should be all good.

Bragging about beating something with 227 crank power, over 4k lbs, and awd... From a roll... On the street. Right, and when you take off, it sounds like the diaphraghm in your wg is stuck open, and won't let you build boost. But idk. I'd have to take a look at it.

And break in your clutha for about 500 miles. But remember, driving on the highway doesn't break in a clutch. Go take a drive in the valley or the city. Downshift and decelerate as much as possible.
