even drop in K&N they will skew 7-8% in either direction.
Joe, you need to be tuned out for the intake as mentioned. Your car is going crazy right now trying to compensate for MAF surge and improper air loads on the stock file due to the intake.
Either remove it, or quit bitching!
but seriously
Matt, 7pm work tonight??

No This IS DIFFERENT!
It was fine until my car choked the other day during a NLS. After that my PCM was a whole new animal spitting out these crazy ltfts and stfts.
I WAS at -3.8% ltft to +3.1% ltft. Now, im at -17.0% ltft...... your saying after 2 months of driving with an SRI, my car finally figured it out? I dont think so. I was at the track, I made awesome runs. I monitored my ltfts and stfts the whoooolee time. THey go to 0.0 at WOT. not -100000000000.000 at WOT.

ugh....this is dissappointing... If your right and it is that. But Im going to seek the alternatives first. Im out of money right now after buying 700$ worth of tires and chipped in some money to a vacation in august and again chip in some money to a vacation in September, and I just gave $1000 to my sister to bail her ass out of jail for being stupid.

unplug your battery for 30mins or something. let the car reset it self and see it it helps lol... seriously though it wouldn't hurt to try. maybe it will go back to the way it was . but either way you still need to be tuned for the intake i don't care what anyone says. or maybe u should clean ur maf

Dirty MAF gives you positive Fuel trims. Negative fuels trim is like you PCM saying "Hey there's too much fuel and not enough air here, I think Im going to pull back, I dunno, lets say.... 20% of what I would normal let go into the cylinders." Thus equating ltft of -20.0.
This can also be interpretted as PCM: "Hmmm there's too much fuel here, Looks like metered air is dissappearing somewhere?, Guess I'll pull back 20% of this guys fuel."
I want to go with the purge solenoid being stuck open hypothesis. AFTER I put the stock airbox back on and show you guys its still negative. lol.
You know there could be a third situation.... The Aeroforce interceptor gauge is playing games with me!
Oh and here's what the PCM would say if the MAF was dirty "dumm dee dummmm deeee duumm, oh whats this? a very positive ltft? I guess Im getting too much air, lets add some fuel!"
also interpreted as PCM: "Oh where's all this unmetered air coming from? THeres no holes or leaks anywhere, strange.... guess the MAF is not properly reading the amount of air coming in.. because it cant sense the actual amount and its only sensing half of what flows in. So the solution is too add more fuel!" <-- Because if the MAF cant sense the amount of air going in then its only going to calculate the amount of fuel to add to get a stoich AFR.
If one of my rockers shattered... or broke, would the car still run>? or would it be invisible until I take the valve cover off?

holy **** Joe... you're making this way too ******* complicated
it's your intake, the LNF HAVE TO BE TUNED IN ORDER TO RUN AN AFTERMARKET INTAKE. do the research man, seriously, it's all over the ******* forums. ok so you can't afford a tune, unplug your battery & put your stock intake back on, it'll be perfectly fine afterwards.

you need to settle down man, you're freaking out over something that isn't major. check all your vacuum hoses, if you don't find anything... go with the stock intake idea.
process of elimination man.
ok, you got me.... the entire turbo setup also
Joe.....
I don't care what anyone says.... intakes skew the MAF reading on an LNF PERIOD. I have yet to see any REAL data stating that it does not. Untill then I think it's a bunch of whoooie!
If his fuel trims are outta whack... it's the MAF that is outta whack since that is the only fuel trim modifier we have besides the correction table.
So if it's not the intake it is a boost leak, or cracked intercooler.
