in theory the exhaust won't be hard. i've done it a bunch of times.
lift the car. take off the rear wheels. disconnect the shock. disconnect the brake line bracket. drop the rear crossbeam. unbolt the catback at the downpipe. unhang the catback. pull it out in one piece. put the rear crossbeam back in, connect the shocks & brake line bracket. install new exhaust. put wheels back on. lower the car and enjoy.

the info i got on your ic pump....... check to see if the the fluid is flowing..... swap it out with someone else's...... check the hoses for any kinks or air in the line.
have you been monitoring your iat2's over the past couple days?
Z's do have A LOT more potential that Cobalts.
stock for stock tho.... i'd go with the Cobalt.
