Yeah that's what he figured. Subframe in these cars is weak as all hell I have to say. Pathetic... No way to repair that either you have to get it replaced. Chevy did a great job with the engine and the tranny but the rest of the car is cheap.

^^ I should post that in the rest of this forum the Cobalt peoples here will be all butthurt I criticized the car. I have to say Cobalt people on this forum have big issues by and large with criticism to the car. It's like if you criticize anything to do with the Cobalt or its spawns (i.e. Cruze) suddenly you're the bad guy.

cobalt is a pos..... make you feel better.
and no those subframes are not weak at all man, ever try to pick one up lol. ******* are heavy. I've actually stopped my car with the subframe in driveways before, got some scratches and that's about it

Hell no they're weak as all hell. The rear one on mine was tweaked out of spec, possibly from a curb strike though there was no damage to any other parts of the car but the subframe just got right out of it.

there is no rear subframe, I guess you're talking the rear twisting beam axle, which yes is designed to flex and bend...... to a point. but what do I know, not like I've built 50+ of these things

it was the pass side front.
