Deer Park, NY
A bunch of us from upstate are thinking about taking a cruise down to long island in a week or two to check out the "scene" down there and to basically waste time since there isn't jack **** to do up here this time of year.
Local thread can be found here:

Anyone from this site from around there or know anything about the "scene" / meets around there? I'm thinking about taking my car down or riding down with someone, not sure yet... either way I should be there though.
Anyone?

Look up DPA (deep park avenue), its a HUGE, and i mean HUGE, spot for car lovers to meet up. People travel from manhatten, bronx, queens, Brooklyn, and all over to go their. Its just a real long road with tons of shops and places on it, you drive down that road friday night you see all the lots packed with hooked up cars.

Yeah thats what I probably will do. Just trying to get an idea on how the scene is down there, since it is pretty bad up here. Bunch of tools with shitty cars is the deal 90% of the time. I'm not even big into the scene at all up here because its so gay.

Weekends sound nice... I actually recall from when I was down there last summer and there was a SHITLOAD of cars at that train station on the weekend. I saw a ton of Cobalts too but I didn't think anything of it

the log cabin show is ok, been a few times, but it ends way too early - too many old folks need to be in bed by 6pm

rochester isnt bad, sundays nights CAN be decent - or at least were last year
saw a camaro race a mustang (both modded well over 500hp) race down 104, get chased by city cops. they ran into webster, then drove back to Gates the long way (going down south to get around the city)
that was a sweet night!

our shops in deer park and like everyone said, friday nights is usually packed out there. the lots get full when the weekends are nice...there is a lot of impromptu racing...cops are definately around but if you are chill and dont **** around they wont bother with you too much...eventually some ass does a burn out in the parking lot and the cops come and start kicking people out but i used to stay up there till 1 or 2 am without problems. maybe when a date gets chosen the LI people will come out from their usual spot they meet at and have a big get together.
