well while I'm waiting for the mods to okay my thread maybe you all can help. So I squeezed the shifter before the brake and the buton went in and doesnt come out... I took off the knob, and to me, it looks like the piston in the sifter doesnt come back up enough to push out the button. other symptoms are: Key locks doesnt release I have to stick my finger under the steering wheel to release it, I can shift ANY time even with no key. But I still have to squeeze the button just a hair to get out of park, go from N to R etc. help?

okay so something isnt releasing the contact that tells the computer I'm going to shift, did a spring bust?
The little piston/peg that pushes the button in the knob is back, but my key still doesnt release.

You should have come up to the D&B meet I hosted a few weeks ago in MD. We had around 50 Cobalts show up, plus a handful of other cars.

*** www.marinechevy.com if you want an address so you can get directions. Also...on the marine chevy site it says that the meet goes from 1-6pm. That will help all you guys that will be traveling from out of the area to be able to plan your trip
