I'm done

Yeah I just lost to a stock cobalt tonight thats when you know its time to just cut your losses and give up. My cobalts never gonna run right again and trouble shooting this problem is just too much right now I've tried everything. I'm stocking her out and retiring. It's been real.

There is that point you get to and realized its only a cobalt and i've spent way to much money on it, its time to move on. Oh, and GTO's are lots of fun.

WEll in a perfect world it would be my cat again for the 4th time but it hasn't shown any real signs of burning out again but i do have like 2 of the 4 symptoms of a blown cat. I'm starting to think that really this is the same old cat on here that they were suposed to replace when i was getting my 10 grand in damage fixed and they skiped it. I'm getting a nasty over boost situation and now i've contained it to only over boosting in end of 3rd and 4th gear but 4th gear goes to like 19 psi and thats no good. Added stress on gaskets and supercharger, heat, eats coolant, not good times. And when im hit car pulls timming soo bad its like the car just stops ( which it has and i should have known this when it went into reduced engine power mode in the middle of a race i had 3 days ago and leterally turned the **** off in the middle of 4th gear at 100-120.)

Then there will be someone like me who will say "I love my Cobalt" and build it to take out GTO's, Vettes, STI's and Evo's just to watch the tears in the corners of your eyes

This was the only reason i was gonna go with an already established car platform that has support for it in the form of people who have worked on it and seen all the differnt types of bullshit that happens when it comes to modding that specifc car. I saw this happening before i got the car. I told my friend "watch ima work on this new platform than im gonna hit a problem and noones gonna have any idea where to even begin helping me." And sure enough.................

Theres always going to be a faster car out there, even if i get beat i still have my awsome seats, 6-speed tranny, suede, sweet tone, better gas milage (over my cobalt), the possiblity of 530 ponies, ect. ect. ect.

Over my cobalt I do. I was getting 22 mpg in city and highway no matter how i drove it would only change +/- 1 mpg. In my GTO i get 18 in the city and low 30's on the highway due to another overdriver gear. That equals out to slightly better than my cobalt since i do 50/50.

That seems off for your Cobalt. The other day I tried driving slow and for 24 hours I did. I put on about 150kms in a day with highway\city combined. I averaged 7lts\100km which is about 14kms\ltr which is about 33.48mpg. Now if this is what you get in you goat then you are getting great mileage. How are you driving though? Because that car screams faster

Well on the highway i just put her in sixth and cruise at 90. In town its varied from aggresive to normal driving.

In my cobalt going 90 it would be alot higher in the RPMs so it would kill my gas mileage. In town i would drive the same i do in my GTO.

well after almost a year of blowing up my car and 21 grand in warrenty work I took my cobalt back to the dyno today and put down 262 Whp and 215 TQ. I'm just glad my cars still got it after all this down time from blowing trannies and axels. I pulled these numbers with a $30 3inch press on pulley, Black06G85's aka Pauls slight tune and welfare mods. i went up 19 whp from 243 whp from when i last dyno'd. Both my dyno's were done on the same type Dyno Dynamics Dynameter. 32 tickets 1 axle, 3 exhaust, 5, 6 cats, 1 tranny, 1 valve train, 1 headgasket, and 36 thousand miles later i can Finally retire in peace. It's been real.......
