NJ/NY Tuning and meet up

So it appears that a lot of people have been left high and dry with Nick from BYT. I talked it over with Gremlin85 (John) and we felt that maybe we should come down some weekend and do some HPtuning for those that need it as well as some light repairs and installs depending upon if we can get a place to do the work. We would be in the Northern NJ area, I have family in Ramsey, NJ so if people would like to set something up with us, we can get a date going. We would like to see at least 4 to 5 people to make this worth the time and effort of going down there and what not.

It would most likely be on a week of some sorts probably a Saturday and Sunday deal depending upon how many we have and what is needed to fix the tune issues.

This also wouldn't be just a tuning get together. If there were just some local guys that wanted to come out and say hi and what not that would be great too. I just wanted to get a feeler out there for everyone to see if we could lend a hand to those that need it as well as find a central location for everyone to meet up in NJ/NY area.

Count me in for a tune. I'm not far from Ramsey at all and actually my grandparents live there.

I was just recently tuned by BYT as of now i don't think i need any tweaks. although i would like to have a copy of a stock LS tune which at the moment i cant get from BYT. But i would be in to help with part installs if needed. i would love to offer the use of my garage but it sucks for working on a cobalt (ie. zero room to move).

I appreciate the offer! We could definitely figure something out to get you the stock file when we come down. I've just noticed that there has been sort of a cry from help from that area about getting someone to tune you guys. We aren't that far (northern MA) and I have plenty of vacation time to burn.

If we can get a good group together I would be more than happy to get everything set up to come down and help out. It would probably either be towards the end of August or beginning of September. I will contact a few other people that have asked about a tune that are in the area and see what they say.

The more people willing to get tuned the quicker we will come down. If we can get at least 4 people to get a tune, will be down either end of August or beginning of September. We can work out credit cost and what not through PM when we strike up enough interest.

So as it stands right now 3 people would need physical tunes and just 1 for a copy of their stock files. Is anyone's ECM locked out because of trifecta by chance? It might make things slightly difficult but not impossible to fix, just would take some time to get everything done. If you guys can push to get 2-3 more people, I will make this happen!

If needs be we can make a seperate trek out to PA. If we are already down in NJ/NY area, PA really isn't a terrible hike for us lol. If you would like to find a few guys willing to have us come out, we can figure something out but it would have to be not super close to the NJ/PA line but nothing 100 miles out. Trying to cut back on the drive time for us as much and focus on the tuning side of things.

I discussed everything with John and we would like to keep it to about 3-4 people per day just so we give ourselves enough time to do everything. For those looking for a tune, please post up what you have and and issues you are experiencing at the moment causing you to want the tune revised. If you have something installed and just need a tune, just put what you have done to the vehicle. This way we can make sure we can get to everyone and not leave something half finished.

If there are TOO many people, we can make arrangements to come down again and do a second round, but that all depends upon the amount of people again.

I just want to thank everyone in there interest in having us come down and hopefully we can get a finalized date in a week or two.

I'm an lsj turbo, with zzp's s252et kit. I just need my idle fixed. Car stalls when the AC is on and idle is not that smooth. Car idled fine on my supercharger tune when I first installed the turbo kit, got retuned by BYT and now my idle is meh. And im still running the same 60lb injectors. Did some research on the hpt forums and there are some tables to adjust for the extra load on the engine when the AC is on. This summer has sucked everytime I get stuck in traffic I gotta turn the AC off and sweat my ***** off. Nick has been really impossible to confirm an appointment, so at this point I don't mind paying to get a new tune.

I don't want to say any pricing just because neither one of us are vendors and I don't want to get in trouble for selling something (service or parts). Right now everyone will be a standard rate for credits as well as a slight cost for us to come down. The more people we get, the less the cost is for us to come down. The cost of doing the tunes has yet to be determined but will depend heavily on how many people we get there. If we get a certain amount of people people, we will give a break on the price that is normally charged at the shop.

I created a Facebook event on our page for those that are interested and want to follow the progress along. It will have the date, times and location (TBD) so everyone can keep track of this. I will keep posting on this thread in the mean time but if you want to direct people over to the link, we will keep it updated.

I have an LSJ... 60s and 2.8 pulley, intake and full exhaust (with cat) supported by basically every cooling mod except meth. At WOT I am super rich (in 10s) and I am also throwing a CEL p2101, I have slight hesistation in the lower rpms. I'm hoping I can get these stupid issues sorted out. It was tuned by BYT.

My inceptor gauge works, but does not turn on with the vehicle (i think its just the power wire isnt tapped but I didnt want to mess with it.) One of my retros is very dim, I was hoping someone could look over it.

I can wire up your gauge correctly at the meet. Go to autozone and get a "add a fuse". I have extra wire for the ground and a soldering iron.

Thanks guys!

The date is still up in the air. Labor day weekend is out of the question that is for sure. We can do August 25-26 or September 8-9. Add yourself to the facebook event and PM me for any questions you have, I will be more than happy to answer them for you. I tried to lay out everything for everyone and give everyone a fair price break if we get the right amount of people for this event.

I'll install your gauges at the meet. Do you have a extra o2 bung before the cat?

Sounds good. So I'm guessing you already have the hub installed on the supercharger. The install would only take an hour for a pulley exchange and injectors. We could do it in a parking lot if needed lol. If you know any PA guys willing to make the trek we can make this a pretty decent meet and get together.
