I can't wait to see the final product. It's going to be tough to beat the previous bumblebee look in my opinion

Getting gauges done tomorrow and possibly a clutch install tomorrow or soon.. $580 is breaking the bank with holidays around :/

Here is my situation. I purchased a 2009 Cobalt SS 2 years ago. It was pretty heavily modified but I am not a mechanical genius I just know that it is fast and produces 400 hp. I have never been able to pass inspection and recently found out that I have been driving around with a 3 inch down pipe and no cat. I immediately took my car back to the dealership i purchased it from and they installed a catalytic converter. Now they have had to flash my ecm back to stock due to the tune it had when i puchased it did not acknowledge it was missing one or the o2 sensor not reading. Once the car is ready to read they will be able to pass the state inspection and I will finally not have to fear getting a ticket when driving near the cops. Once the car passes they said they will be flashing the ecm back to the performance tune.

my question is...Is the performance tune stored on my ecm even though it was recently flashed back to stock? Or will it need to be retuned by a tuner? I appreciate anyone that car answer this for me. I am sure most of you have recieved the run around from dealers before. Thank you ahead of time!

most dealers have the capability to run a scan and check for previous tunes on a pcm. i'm not sure if they have the capability to revert back to a previous tune. i would like to think they do but i think people have had their tunes wiped by dealers accidentally and unable to recover them so i don't know. it's w/e the dealer tells you. do you have the stock turbo? if you do I highly doubt you are at 400whp.

thanks man, i'm sure you'll encounter the same problem tho, once yours is finished you'll leave it alone for a while then change it all up. imagine only being able to draw on a single canvas and your an artist, gotta keep wipin the slate clean and re-drawing. haha.

thats awesome man, which gauges did you end up getting? still going with a lime green design?

Are you still on the stock turbo?? Once your back to stock your back to stock until you get retuned so if they have the software to retune you then the tune is gone as far as i know but keep us informed. Because when i went back to stock i had to get re tuned and everything so seems like you need to find the tuner who tuned the car.

yea if they reflash back to stock you'll be on the stock tune, can you make a list of all the mods? if you get reflashed back to stock and have bigger injectors and any other performance mods it's not going to run right, but what county are you in? so i take it you're throwing a check engine light? personally i'd say find a good tuner and just have then tune out the O2 sensor and make sure everything is good tune wise. maybe try and PM brianthelion on here and see if he responds, i know he tunes but not sure what all he exactly does

yeah your back to stock. the ole tech 2 cant do the previous tune. it all depends on the dealer. if you get a retarded one like mine they wont know the difference of stock or a tune from trifecta or hpt. some dealers thats the first thing they look at.

From what I am informed of with the mods is as follows. This is a frankencar for sure. I have precision turbo, dejon intake, 3 inch downpipe, aftermarket intercooler, bigger injectors (not sure on what size), turbo timer, greddy blow off valve, beefy brembo brakes. The car runs 29 pounds of boost.

I am considering installing a front engine mount and also a 3 inch catback exhaust. From what I am getting from everyone on here is that I am basically screwed as far as the tune I am used to. I live in Exton PA so if there are any tuners near me please let me know. I want this done right.

What for precision turbo is it? And why bigger injectors may I ask? You don't have to upgrade the injectors in the LNF. Actually I don't even think they make bigger injectors for the LNF and tell me if I'm wrong. But as far as your tune goes brianthelion and I are good friends he tuned me but he hasn't done a bigger turbo yet so I'd hit up James (chevycobaltss3) and ask him some questions he does wonders with any cobalt lol. But there's also a guy in pine grove who does dyno tuning with hp tuners and does nice work, I know he's done some cobalts with bigger turbos so maybe try him it's called stumps garage. Good luck

I've already linked him up with my tuner. Oldskool, guy is borderline a genius when it comes to tuning.. He tuned my old cavalier with the LE61t, and the hahn port fueler. Dude is great

Yeah Kevin, still sticking with Lime Green. I went with AEM Digital Boost and Wideband gauges and the Lime Green Interceptor eventually. I'm trying to get the boost and wideband in and the clutch done around the same time before the interceptor.

yea the interceptor isn't a "must have" but its a great monitoring tool and its great if you throw a random code for a dumb reason in which case instead of limping home or callin a tow you just read the code and then clear it an be on your way. its saved me a few times already. haha

p.s. i didn't know aem made their gauges in different backlighting
