anyone worried about using a standard paint over a hi-temp? how hot does it get in there with the HID's?

Hi temp is for like 500 degrees lmao

HIDs produce very little heat, even Halogens wouldn't produce enough heat to be worried

Losing my license for 15 days in about a week from my speeding ticket. If you're caught traveling 30mph over the speed limit you're giving a speed hearing which will 99% of the time result in 15 day suspension.

On another note the Buffalo Wild Wings in Colonial Park Mall is open. I just checked while I was in Harrisburg.

project retrofits will start today! with some force and trimming of the <- insert points i was able to get my other lights in and tightened down so my good ones are out now, after lunch i'll attempt to take them apart. i think i'll set everything up while it's still chrome and see how it looks and how i like it, if i don't like it then i'll just scuff the chrome and get it ready for when i pick up paint probably tomorrow

so how many clips did you guys break off? my housings were so brittle ALL of the clips just snapped without any pressure, luckily my dad was here to help me get the lens' off... i knew that would be the hardest part which is why it's taken me so long to do it

Only thing I broke one of the tabs on the bottom of the headlight. It didn't wanna budge, but when it did it snapped immediately. Ill probably epoxy it when I put them back together.

looks good man, and i finally had enough of my headlights for the day. everything is apart other than the reflector bowls, i scraped the cement sealant off the housings and lens' so hopefully they'll go back together a little easier. as the picture i put on facebook says "never again with 5+ year old GM lights... such a PITA!" if i ever do this again i'll just buy a set of cheap Ebay OEM lights

ahaha, good things take time and hard work andrew, you should know this. and unique and custom parts are all the more pain in the ass but are also 10X more worth it.

btw, nice detail Toby, looks great!

good karma FTW! Good Luck!

I'd consider it Toby, however I love doing my own work which includes detailing. It saves money and it's so much more satisfying when you get done all the hard work and reap the benefit of the beauty and saying you did it.

Been searching craiglist for another car. I gunna talk to my parents when they get back to see if they'd mind another car sitting around or not. So far I'm thinkin a good 4x4 truck with a small 6 cyl engine (save gas), an AWD car like a talon, or possibly even a civic or civic shell. There is one civic on there for 700 an the lady says it doesn't have compression an was told the timing jumped, which i have a brand new d16z6 head and pistons anyway. soooo i'm going to keep lookin an maybe something will go down within the next month or two.

depends, interior or exterior is 84 and a full detail is 174

Interior:
Steam Clean Engine
Wheel's, Tires, Wheel Wells
Door Jams
Vacuum Interior
Scrub and Dress all Vinyl
Shampoo All Carpets and Seats
Inside/Outside Windows

Exterior:
Steam Clean Engine
Wheel's, Wheel Wells, Tires

Then a full detail includes both.
