before this one we did a full VR6 swap into a '82 rabbit, thing would fly but got sold not too long after it was built since it had some fueling issues we couldnt figure out

it's been about 3 years since we built one and i know he's going crazy not having a project so his fiancee is trying to find a old 30's or 40's pickup as a christmas present

 

thats awesome man. that had to be so much fun. i never had the opportunity to do that but i'm still planning on eventually doing a chevette. my 79 2 dr coupe chevette is still in really good shape but i'm planning on reinforcing the chassis so i want to do all my plans to one thats already beat up so i don't ruin the one i have.

 

yea man i really want to get a project of my own but i don't have the money or the space to do it right now. for me i'd love to do a 67-69 camaro or like a 70 chevelle or even like a 62 C10 pickup, big block, manual trans, just bad to the bone ya know. i'd even like to build my own bike but don't have the money/space for that either

 

we have a 70 chevelle in our garage right now. my dad won't do the body work cuz its pretty bad even though I assured him with some time and love that we could do it. he's sending the frame out to get repaired and stripped and powder coated and have all new parts put on as well as a brand new rear (upgraded) and full disc conversion. only gunna cost him like 7 grand.

 

Dudddddeeeee Andrew, I might have something for you. My friend has a mk1 TDI he's trying to get rid of. It needs work so it's a perfect project car. I think he's looking for a grand. No rust at all. Want me to talk to him?

ugh **** this cobalt. leaving work today i came out car had a big cloud of smoke around it. mech said its def burning oil. but the level hasnt gone down any and its only at idal sometimes. 1 of 3 things 1 blown turbo seaals (fucked) 2. incorrect seated rings (im super fucked in the ass) 3 nothing at all .. oil is black im changing tommrrow and praying for 3. lol

what color was smoke? sure its not coolant? you forgot head gasket, if your fluid level hasn't gone down check your coolant, its possible its burning the oil and coolant and coolant is also leaking into your oil thus the reason why your not seeing a decrease in oil level. it could also be vice versa for your coolant.

 

coolant is the same and no discolor. ive had almost 3 ppl tell me the turbo is blown. **** my life.

 

that suxx man, how'd that happen? ball bearing u said you got right? they are supposed to be reliable but also unpredictable as to when they fail. maybe your oil supply to the turbo wasn't correct?

maybe you should just do a TVS?

 

not sure. ill check shaft play tommrrow and check. best idea i have is buy a cheap k04 swap the exauhst sides throw it in and be good till i get the 5557. no im not going sc lol
