On Saturday talk to Matt about his machine shop's LSJ head package. If you wanna go all out, that shop will make you a sick head. If you just wanna go moderate, you can pull off your stock head and have them rework it and upgrade the valvetrain.

SuperTech dual valve springs, Ti retainers and upgraded seats w/ the HKS Evo 272 grind cams seems to be the most effective on the LSJ. There are quite a few threads about it floating around here. Actually, Area47 just put them in less than 3K miles ago and has his own thread about them...

Nope. Not a big fan of that unit. I'd rather put that money towards purchasing HPT...

Mustang = Loading or load based reading dynamometer...

150 on Matt's dyno is easily 168 on any dynojet, more likely 170-171.

W/ that in mind, you will be looking to make 130 or so on Matt's dyno.

yea it reads 13.5% lower than a dynojet would. i'm hoping for 270ish on his dyno.

oh Edubs, i read Area's cam thread....very interesting stuff. i might have to look into that. but i think for the 400whp mark i'm gonna have to swap over to turbo or get the TVS.

You won't.

As far as I know, the only cobalt to put down 270 on his mustang was turbo'd.

Let's just leave that alone. He won't make those numbers again. I don't even put down 262 on Matt's dyno...

I will next time I go back, I'm shooting for at least 265 in May. Just trust me on that.

Absolutely, that is all that matters. Matt's tunes are safe and make good power. You'll be able to hold your own, if not beat, people w/ similar mods on the street or strip...

i'm not going to lie, i want to whoop the crap out of the local turbo hondas that are running around. but having my car run safe with great power is much more important.

Start small and work your way up. After Saturday, you'll be able to whoop the N/A Hondas and keep up w/ the turbo Honda's, depending on what they have done. Over the winter, if you want, Matt can turbo your car np and it'll be a beast for sure...

Anything over 300 and you basically have to switch over to a more efficient compressor. Sure you can make over 300 w/ the Eaton, but it'll be pushing it.

Yea! Just wont be getting Dyno'd. I called Matt B 4 and asked about a Tune but he said they were filled up... So i'll just chill down there for a while and help with the drop if need be... I think Steddy is gunna drop so if he needs an extra set of hands....

+ I just dropped mine last weekend with D4u2s0t so Its all still fresh.

By yea I'll be hangin out for a while.

if i get a chance to talk to Matt on the side Saturday i'll ask him about what i need parts wise and money wise for him to turbo my car. i think i pretty much just want that 400whp mark, cuz i believe it can be done with a stock engine, but of course for the heck of it i'd have the top end done.
