Jannetty carries a standalone AFR tuning system. It runs like 450 but it comes with software to tune via a computer. and it logs data onto an SD memory card. Might be worth my money...

Mike: As for the cat... Ill get back to you later on it. I may just put the stock pipe back on.

I would go with a magnaflow hi flow if you are going to put a cat back on. Isn't the stock exhaust already 2.5 inch? Thats what I heard, not that I have a cobalt and could actually check

6700?!?!?!? whats the redline on an SS anyway?

pretty sure it was a 2.25 but that is a general standard. GM may have been smart and used 2.5 inch pipes. Thats just another thing I can do later on... The HP Tuners programs that Jannetty has will delete the #2 O2 sensor tho... so the problem will go away one way or the other.

Stock redline is 6500... right now it bounces at about 7000 with stage 2. The stage 3 has an adjustable redline that tops at about 8000.

So CTSSBOWTIE, What was your impression on Jannetty, the shop, and the people who worked there?

I actually wasn't around for the work on the car... But the guys, Ted mostly, were up to date on most of the Cobalt stuff. The work was great, I scoped out the welding for the O2 sensor bung... Good work there and its needed for a wideband reading. The only thing I can really say thats not great about them is prices.
The dyno runs before and after my header install, the installation itself and the O2 Bung install ran 350. Maybe I'm used to lower prices or I just don't have a good idea of costs...
The tunes that he has for the 'Balt sound great too. But again, cost sounds like an issue.

Overall I liked the place a lot. BTW, if you are going to change out downpipes and stuff, leave the cat in. Ted schooled me on why its a good idea to leave them in. Like my AFR is down around 9-10%... WAY too rich, which is why i only put down 247 instead of more.

Couldn't they adjust the richness of the car using HP tuners to compensate?

Yeah, for a lot more $$$. Besides, I can probably fix that with either a cat or just wait for our dyno day. That and I still have bills to pay...

The cat is what is used to help your cars computor determine what Airfuel to use the next cycle of the engine. Thats why you have o2 sensors in front of and in back of the cat. The computior figuers out the difference between the both and calculates the correct airfuel ratio along with some other factors also.

I think that im going to weld in a hi-flo cat to my current downpipe... that will definitely fix my o2 sensor glitch...and kill that annoying CEL on my dash Untill then i just have to deal with ****. even so im gonna get the Innovative Motorsports Air/fuel controller kit... Jannetty has it for like 450, cheap compared to the corp. website... till then 247 will just have to do.
toodles...

Attention:

OK, If you havn't heard yet the date for the Dyno Day is going to be April 21. So if you are still planning on going then you will need to call Jannetty Racing and tell them you are with the Cobalt Dyno Day group on April 21. Then he told me he would like a prepayment soon from everyone that is going of $75 or he will take half at this time. He then also said that when you pay your money is not refundable, but if you can't make it he said, then he will give you a store credit. So the number to call is 203-753-7223. If you have anymore questions just shot me a pm. Thanks

Bump

The shop opens at 8 on saturdays. So if we start arriving then or at least close to then there should be no problem getting all of us through the dyno.

Ordered: Vibrant header/downpipe/high-flow cat, GMPP touring cat-back... If this is the stuff you ordered then you should be good. Just remember, never leave out the cat. Im speaking from experience here. I probably lost 20hp just by removing the cat from the system and my mixture is richer than bill gates...
