Stage 1 mount

I am going to give my honest unbiased opinion on the Stage 1 mount.

After installing the mount and starting the car up, I did notice slight vibrations. The vibs were small and they weren't enough to make any rattling noises. After i took the car off the ramps in reverse I did notice some vibs, but very minimal. After driving around for awhile I realized i could not feel any vibrations basically once I let the clutch out in 1st. At a 60 mph cruise there were no vibrations, only a small amount of cabin noise, but nothing annoying or loud at all. Well I got the mounts in and even though I had my winter tires on I did a 2k drop and I had no wheel hop. It was a good feeling to have a car with no wheel hop. The mount was very easy to install with few tools. I am very please with this and cannot believe GM didn't have the engineers to figure something like this out. Hats off to OTTP. Thank you for making a good product for an affordable price.

50psi is the max pressure.... set them at 32-34psi and you won't have any more hop.

32 psi is a standard number for tire pressure on almost all tires. Yes daily driving.

Daily driving and thats what most manufacturers recommend. Track would be 22-24 for a good place to start.

PLEASE specify that by "track" at 22-24 psi you mean "drag strip". Someone hits a roadcourse at those pressures and bad things could happen...

Thanks captain obvious, were talking about accelerating from a dead stop so that is referencing a "drag stripe" situation. BE REAL!

Apparently you don't roadcourse or autocross much, where accelerating from a low speed corner exit can be an issue with a heavy foot.

I don't road race ever. But yes you are correct I should have been more clear.

Forget it man.. I don't autocross, But I can hardly believe your car or 95% of the cobalts on here have enough power to blow the tires loose in second gear from a roll, where wheel hop could occur.

Here is one for you captian obvious when starting an auto-x your starting from a dead stop just like at the drag.

@Fast are you saying that with around 40 PSI and these mounts we will still hop? (I run 40 psi when I auto-x)

@40 psi if you drop the clutch you will get some axle tramp. slightly different then hop.

Got anything to fix the axle tramp too? Never heard of it so I always thought it was hop, I usaly dump around 3k to launch for auto-x.

What exactly is the difference between axle tramp. & wheel hop? Can they both have damaging effects to your engine/drivetrain? Because even after installing these mounts and putting my summer tires on, I still have some sort of hopping going on and my car is basically stock (drop in K&N filter). Oh, and I was able to get the mount in correctly btw, and everything seems to be ship shape.

On a side note, I noticed some oil residue on the underside of the tranny when I was installing these (It didn't look like trans. fluid, but did appear to be coming from the tranny). I think I already know the answer, but is that normal? Has anyone else noticed this? You can see it in the pics I posted a few posts back.
