Billet Rotated Mounts

What exactly is the difference between axle tramp. & wheel hop? Can they both have damaging effects to your engine/drivetrain? Because even after installing these mounts and putting my summer tires on, I still have some sort of hopping going on and my car is basically stock (drop in K&N filter). Oh, and I was able to get the mount in correctly btw, and everything seems to be ship shape.
On a side note, I noticed some oil residue on the underside of the tranny when I was installing these (It didn't look like trans. fluid, but did appear to be coming from the tranny). I think I already know the answer, but is that normal? Has anyone else noticed this? You can see it in the pics I posted a few posts back.

your mom is leaking.
both, doesn't matter. It does help with lowered cars in some ways i think, I could be wrong though.

WHEELSPIN!! GLOOOOOORRRIIOOUUSS WHEELSPIN!!!!!!!
I cannot possibly explain the difference these mounts make! It's like completely different car!! Guys who are waiting - you only THINK you're excited - you don't even know how excited to be - the car can actually be DRIVEN now... OMG... It's ******* WONDERFUL... Okay, calm down, try to make a nice, objective post... Not going to be easy...
Okay - vibes. Worse than expected, but nowhere near as bad as poly mounts - like, replace one mount with poly and it'd be about this bad or slightly worse. Only annoying thing - and it's a minor gripe - with poly, once you're over a certain RPM, the vibes disappear; with these the vibes are lesser than with poly, but they make themselves known across the revs. Kinda like putting a louder muffler in, but without the loud part, lol.
Josh and Qwik and company - I did not have torque specs. I tightened all of the 18mm to what is probably about 80 lbs give or take, both the 5 tranny bolts and the 2 mounting bolts. Will getting those to whatever they're supposed to be at reduce the vibes? The 3 15mm on the rear I ade as tight as I possibly could with a slightly undersized ratchet; so they're probably at about 80 lbs as well.
Install is easy of you can get the car up. Laying on your back, it's not as simple as one would wish. This is not because of OTTP's design, but GM's. A few notes:
GET A RATCHETING 18mm BOX END WRENCH OR HATE YOUR LIFE. Might be different on the 'balts, I dunno, but in a RL, the upper tranny bolt WILL NOT clear the airbox with ANY kind of socket on it. The box-end makes a few others simpler as well, though it's not necessary.
The foil-wrapped cables above the rear mount - I think they're shifter cables, not 100% sure - will contact the raised rear mount. Not BADLY, but it will contact, and it will make getting that thing in harder then it could be 'cuz it wants to push the mount down and forward while you're trying to torque the rearmost 15mm long bolt.
Take the rear tranny bracket off. You will want to try to get the mount in without doing so, don't. Unclip the sensor thingies and drop the bracket, this will save you mucho effort trying to get the spacer rings in.
Put the car on stands and use your jack to raise the tranny. Seems obvious, but I bet somebody was going to leave the car on the jack and try something else. Don't.
That's about it.
Back to OTTP - guys, if the spacer - or the bottom of the new mounts if there isn't one anymore - could have a locking key thingy like the bottom of the stock mount does, it would be 300 times easier to get all that aligned and in. Just a thought.
And now, back to driving with them...
Some vibes. Annoying at a stoplight. Until it turns green, and you realize that whether you want to go fast or not, what you DON'T have to do is concentrate on getting off the line smoothly for fear of the dreaded hop. It jst changes the way you THINK about driving, not to mention the way you actually drive. I no **** believe that these mounts - with ZERO other mods - could drop 1 or 2 tenths off your 1/4 mile on an otherwise stock car. You just have som much more confidence off the line, and it's so much easier to launch.
Way to go OTTP. Too bad GM decided to release a "don't fix the axles under warranty that our design flaw broke in the first place" TSB; all they needed was to release a new motor mount and the issue would be solved. Sad, really. One more time - awesome job guys, thanks for making me fall in love with my car all over again.

Slow server = accidental double post.
Did I mention that these mounts will change your life? They help you make more money, they make your ***** 30% larger, and they cure cancer. And AIDS. They improve the economy and stop global warming, too. Seriously, they do.
