Billet Rotated Mounts
#402
never got a confirmation but got my mounts on friday. installed them today with the steering rack spacers, all i can say is giggity giggity goo! a little bit of vibration but nothing i cant live with. no matter what i did or how i launched, the wheels stayed on the pavement. amazing. total install for mounts and spacers was about an hour n a half. as for the rack spacers, i noticed a lot more improvement than i though i would. im lowered, so i felt plenty of bump steer. now, nothing. not a damn thing. suspension compresses, steering stays true. i love it

I have discovered that you CAN get signifcant wheel hop even with the stage 2's.
An aggressive launch with the tires at autocross pressures (38-41 lbs on wider than stock rubber) on a really grippy concrete surface will do the trick, lol. Still, it wasn't the same if that makes any sense? Not as violent is how I would describe it. Just as much hop as pre-mounts, but it felt less... Destructive. More contained.
Anyway, just thought I'd mention it, lol.

you shouldnt launch with the PSI that high for pea performance anyways...
did anyone figure out if the TTR upper mount can be used safely with these? It just looks so much better than the stocker.

I know to "launch" at lower psi, lol. In my previous posts, I indicated that they mounts were fabulous and eliminated all hop even at my higher than average street tire pressures in the mid to high 30's. At teh autocross this weekend - where higher pressures are a MUST, I won't sacrifice ability to run the course fast to get a sllightly faster launch, LOL - it did hop a bit with an aggressive launch at high tore pressures. Not a critisism, just put out there for posterity.

well i put my mounts in and there is alittle less vibes compared to the solid mounts, but i still get wheel hop at a 2k launch. all and all they are still better then the solid mounts

WTF are you doing launching at 2k, LOL? That is not the fast way to launch these cars, and short of showing off and putting on a smoke show there is no concievable reason to take these cars off the line that high! Even without wheelhop an aggressive launch from idle yields the best 60' times.

i have the 1st design stage 2 mounts. i do get wheelhop at 42psi on my kdw's, however drop em down to below 40 and it completly disapears. any fwd car has a heck of a time hooking at that high a psi.

Area had his on I believe but I am not sure if he removed it and put the stock engine mount back on.

Unless you have better tires
1st gear is just so freakin' short, tires just don't have a chance. No way these cars should ever be let go at 2k on the street on any kind of street rubber at street pressures, right down to my UTQG 40 BFG R1's, lol (which are TECHNICALLY street tires LMAO). No point except to show off mad wheelspin.

I did a bunch of tests this morning. The rotated mounts and the stock mount have lil vibs together. The rotated mounts and the TTR engine mount have more vibs than the stock but nothing anyone can handle. Then I tried the stock mount with the rotated mounts and a ingals TD lol. I had a water bottle in the cup holder and its was bouncing like crazy. I know I shouldn't have but gotta try every option out. personally I kept the TTR and rotated mounts and threw out that garbage TD.
