Comp Cams Still For Sale
Question I got from a few people:
Can you install these cams yourself without the Ecotec Camshaft Sprocket Holding Tool?
Yes you can if you have the experience and confidence to take your Cylinder Head off.
Here's a link to a "How To" made by Darkstars
Great job he did to him

according to Bates Engineering the 2.2 ecotech does not have a cam sensor unless it is European. Wouldn't the sensor be on the driver's side of the head? I took a look at mine and i didn't see any sensor or wires on the head or valve cover.

Let me look into this it just does not sound right.
07 is confirmed by at least 2 members here to have the cam sensor.
UPDATE
I've been told that there is a sensor and it has to be pressed in the exact location. Also 1 of the 2 cams is too long and needs to be cut.
Does one of the cams extend out of the head on your 08 ecotec? The sensor should be located at the end of it

but don't ecotecs have a intergal compression-sensing ignition modular? I don't have the end of the cam sticking out, not thaT I see. I have two brakets. No sensors no wires. Bates said all 2.2 ecotecs are unequal length cams and that is was comp sells.

I just don't want to sell you these and then you find out they don't fit and need to be modified. I'm a good seller I'd prefer the buyer be 100% satisfied with the purchase

He was a complete a$$ to me and said listen I'll send you these cams and if when they don't work send th back and only pay shipping.

How much did he want for the cams? $450 - $470
Shipping these heavy 2 cams costs about $45 just to let you know.
For less $$$ then that you can buy my cams and pay a machine shop to modify them for your sensor. Just make sure it's a reputable shop.
This is not a job for a rookie machinist

The 2005 and 2006 2.2L uses a waste spark control system, so there is no cam position sensor. Intake and exhaust cams are interchangeable with GMPP and Comp Cams camshafts.
2007+ 2.2L uses a wheel-style cam position sensor on the intake cam. It is not interchangeable with any GMPP or aftermarket cams. The exhaust cam for the 07+ is the same casting as previous years with a slightly different cam profile...it is interchangeable with GMPP exhaust cam.
If you have an 08, the sensor is there...period.
