it will just reduce the life of the bulbs and ballasts, just like any other light bulb you leave on.

I pulled the drl fuse and they still come on automatically... Is there more than one? I pulled the one under the hood...

Are you sure you pulled the right fuse? You can always just turn the headlights off with the switch on the turn signal lever.
