i havent got it on yet, i need zzp turbo mani. or the vulcan eq length, but we have all heard horror stories about that...

paying 800 for a horror story isnt my type of story book ending! ya dig! lol

the 20g hits really hard in the midrange and its a tire spinner, im looking for something thats gonna spool decent but wake up a little slower to avoid that huge hit in power the 20g provides...

it breaks the tires loose at such a slow speed that the car has no foward momentum and it just spins hard and bounces the limiter. im hoping the way boost comes in with the bigger internal mass of the s256 will be more smooth.

we will see, the 20g did the trick and im sure i was hovering around 400 on 22psi (dynod 370 on 19psi)

but im looking to be at or over 400 @ 19psi on the S256

you still running a 50trim? are you on the garret t04e/t3 50trim. i dont remember.

im curious what ar housing you have? and your spool times!

where does the s20g hit full boost? i hit full boost by 4k and just spin till red line, even in 3rd. right now i'm looking for something that spikes a bit sooner than this 60 trim, 45lb/min airflow is nice, but its almost not even usable. personally looking for something that will spike around 3k and give me 340-350 whp.

i have a t3 .63 a/r housing spool times above.

i have the vulcan log manifold, not at all happy......thank god i have a tig welder now though so thats about to change lol

update coilovers sold, payment recieved. bump for the rest! can't beat the prices on the sleeves !

in 4th gear:

i see positive pressure at 2400, about 1.5psi till 3200 were i see 10psi then its fully spooled to 22psi @ 4000

i just think its a bad combo, the super means it has a 10cm exh housing mated to a td06h comp housing.

so basically a small turbo that spools late... lame...

for your goal and the way you want power to come in, i think a big 16g or swithing your exh housing would prob be the cheapest way to spool that soon and still make your power goal.

im a fan of journal bearing though, for the ability to rebuild and you can beat the **** out of em it seems with nothing more than a $30 rebuild kit.

garret is a expensive mans turbo, once its done you need the whole chra **** that!

i like the 50 trimm, just want something DBB this time as i have all the coolant lines and fittings from saab now. at what rpm does your turbo spike? and with that small a/r does it run out of breath in the top end?

garret has a good warranty though. i'm actually thinking a gt2871 just gotta find one thats external wastegated.
definatley not going journal bearing again, they just spool so much later, got a buddy with a gt3582r and he's only spools 300 rpms later than me.
another thing i'm looking into is a smaller fmic mine has huge amounts of volume and will support something crazy like 900cfms, i don't need all that and it definately affects spool times

I have been thinking bout running a liquid to air like the one ZZP uses for the 2.4 on the side of the motor. And have a intake manifold made with the throttle body on the other side under the radiator hose hump...that would prolly be the best\shortest way

bump for good deals on sick parts

i've toyed with that idea myself but i do a lot of exxtended boost runs ie autobahn /track runs. i need air to air for that, if i was drag racing it would be fine though

could always run the charge pipes up top on each side of the radiator just below the core support and have a new radiator made

if you research the s256 vs 3076 i have found that the BW is spooling no later than 100-200rpm later than the BB GT, and yet BW has a no questions hassle free 1yr warranty.

it seems that when being used in extreme conditions (such as the autobahn) the BW was taking a beating due to its much much larger center section and the 360 thrust bearing system, were the GT have to be water cooled just to keep em alive, they are finicky about oil psi, and once they deny your warranty (if it happens) your fucked out of about 800 opposed to 50 max to rebuild the BW. (i hear they like to deny warranty on a claim of oil starvation very often)

i was so close to purchasing a GT then found so many comparrisons on the dsm forums of the 256 vs 3076 and it seems everyone had something good to say about BW new technology and how there journal bearings are meeting and beating spool times and outflowing similare sized turbo's

and i paid 732.50 shipped not 1300+

this s256 is supposed to be the shizzzznit, we will see soon!

just something to look into, zzp has had great succes with them. (i still cant belive zzp basically ran a 10sec pass 11.091 @ 132.3)
