Hopefully it stays like this. Its about time a company sells a product thats as good as theirs for a reasonable price. 600 dollars for a header is ridiculous unless you own a super car.
Do the math ..... $300 header dp combo 20hp $600 header dp combo. 21hp. LOL I'm game for $600+ bucks when I need HEADER(s)

do it, but dont be shocked if your flex pipe breaks, and make sure you use the right bolts to secure it.
my friend who helped me install my clear image one was shocked at how easy clear images was, so far the flex pipe is holding together fine...even when we used the wrong style bolt

no doubt its awesome quality, awesome customer service and awesome product.
no other company will drill a O2 bung into their downpipe for free...clear image does..and thats a must if your going to get tuned.

I'm not quite sure why our header/DP combo keeps getting mentioned as costing $600.00. We are roughly $400.00 for the steel header and off-road down-pipe. And, our quality is second to no one. Please do not mis-quote our prices.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Dan first I wasn't even referring to your header dp solution. I was just referring to expensive headers in general.
However when you add everything you need it is around 600.
Mid-length TRI-Y Header: available with 1 5/8" or 1 3/4" primary tubes $249.75
Down-pipe (hi-flow converter) ( $298.50
O2 sensor extension $40.00
Shipping $40.00
= $627.00
Or w/
Mid-length 4 into 1 header: available with 1 5/8" or 1 3/4" primary tubes for $206.75
The total then is 584.
Your header is price very fairly, however I think the downpipe w/ cat ( considering cobalts are daily drivers and some of us have emission testing and require a cat) is a bit high. + The o2 extension is 25 bucks more expensive than ZZP. However at the moment on a 2.2 Cobalt its too hard to pass up a header / dp combo, w/ gaskets, 02 extension, for the same price as just a DP.
Competitive pricing earns business. Thats just how it works, if one of your competitors, especially one with the quality and reputation of zzp releases a header dp combo for 300 bucks. As competition if you want peoples business you should either match or beat that price.

I dunno .. maybe 2 years from now i'll be signing a different tune. I'm just saying price is too important of a factor for me. Hence I make over 20 an hour and i still shop at wal mart
Shortstack, you obviously only got the off road downpipe. Which I'm personally not a fan of.
ZZP just flat out amazed the **** outta me .. I ordered last night, tracking info says it will be here TODAY.

Ryan,
I thought you were referring to us. Sorry about that.
I can appreciate the point you are trying to make about price, competition, etc.
However,
you can not compare anything but the price of our products to the other guy. Because simply stated, our products are made better, built from thicker material, use a superior flange design, do NOT require any O2 extensions for either O2 bung, and our down-pipe uses a much higher quality metallic core converter compared to the old school, cheap, ceramic core converter the other guys use. And our converter flows more. Not to mention our workmanship, finish work and attention to detail is in a class by itself compared to the other guys.
It seems the other guys are lowering their prices to try and re-capture the market. As for us, we don't have to lower our prices because we offer better everything. Like the old cliche goes, you get what you pay for.
I have followed your exhaust/resonator thread and i see you have been trying different resonators and now you are considering a different muffler. You have stated all along you want to stay "cheap". Well, unfortunately, when it's all said and done you will have most likely spent more money on parts and labor for all the "cheap" products than it would have cost you to order our complete header/DP/exhaust system.
Take it from someone who knows, there are no short-cuts. I spent more than 1/2 my life trying to find them and trying to save money by purchasing the less expensive "cheap" products and services. I always end up with the same result, learning the hard way and spending double what I would have on the "best" and much more expensive parts/service the first time around.
In a nut-shell, we will not be lowering our prices to match any other company selling headers. We no longer have to try and compete with them. We have proven ourselves in this community and have become known for offering the absolute best of everything; parts, materials, workmanship and service.
We're going to go ahead and let everyone else compete with us.
