Unplug one or your injectors. Should sound the same and make about the same power

Its not a bad header there is just much more you can gain for the money. And I could almost garuntee a badmab header has better gains than the "Noodle" and its about $200 cheaper. It's a cool header and it can work with some setups your just not gonna get the most power for the money. Most people on this site are on a budget and for someone to buy this to gain power it's a waist of money. But again like said earlier if you want a good sound and yor not worried about getting the most power for the money then buy it.

I'd wager most the ppl in this thread that posted "negative experiences" have never owned or even held a jbp header for that matter and are relying on their super interweb "knowledge" to condemn this header.

Good point, who has had or has this header on their car? Good experience? Or bad?

(DISCLAIMER!! This is a lower reading dyno!!! DISCLAIMER!!!) - for those of you who dont use what a dyno is intended for and only look @ numbers.

Lower whp/wtrq is the m62... see the trq curve and how it's a nice long extension until 6k

Now notice the mp90 dyno over top and how it peaks trq @ 4k.... Looks like flow restriction issue on a bigger blower application.

The noodle header works great on a 2.7 m62 setup running 16 psi. My assumption is it simply cannot support the flow of a larger blower application... but thats only an assumption until I redyno w/ a shorty 1 3/4" 3" coll. header. Which is why I told you give me a couple weeks to see if it's worth selling.

Same deal with my TVS, great low end torque but holding the engine back in the top end.

I'm looking forward to dynoing the shorty header now after seeing this. It makes the TVS act like a baby turbo as well.

I went from a CAV2 shorty to the JBP. It was def worth it for the torque gains. Car felt weak down low with the shorty.

I'd rather the trq carry on 3" MP90 S/C like it did w/ the noodle and m62 2.7 combo.

From what I've read the TVS lacks in the trq dept unless you start over spinning it and add e-85.

I wouldn't say it lacks in the torque department, it's not as punchy as a pulley'd down m-62 off the line. It gives nice smooth power delivery and doesn't fall off after 5500.

according to your dyno w/ the tvs and jbp header. You lose power quickly past 4700 rpm. Do you have a dyno of your tvs w/ the shorty header on?

Torque drops off but you don't feel a dramatic power drop. For the most part in second and the start of third you need to feather the gas cause all it wants do do is spin. No I didn't dyno the shorty before i sold it. My tuner and I had identical setups with the exception of different headers and when we raced you could have nailed a board between our doors. We would exchange fender lenghts as we went through the rpm ranges and shifts.

So basically, the noodle header is good for what I want, I will be staying with the m62 pulley'd down. Sounds like with the Tvs, problems with flow are seen. I was going to stick with a 2.8 pulley.. B ok guys?

your golden

the dyno i posted is on a m62 2.7 and noodle vs mp90 3" and noodle

so like I said... if the shorty is needed for my setup, I'll sell you my jbp header.

OTTP Long Tube Header - Over The Top Performance

Thats actually not stated on the website. It is very close to equal length and we give you the primary lengths. How do you know for sure that the jbp isn't 1/2" off on a primary?

from the link you posted

Primary lengths
Â
26Â 7/8"
27"
27"
26Â 7/8"

Last time i checked that is not equal length, and I pulled that info directly from your website.

I wasn't saying it was a 1/2" but the primaries are not equal length.

You and I know that 3mm is not even worth mentioning, but people are dumb and as soon as they hear unequal length they assume it's some huge amount and junk. Omega measured the jbp and IIRC it was 1/4

It's funny how so many different platforms use similar style headers with no issues. There may have been some qci on a few of the units but that could be said for every header made for this car as I have seen threads pertaining to quality failure for all of them.

That being said I will be pulling mine off in the next month or so to install my ZZP LTH because I'm going to pulley my TVS down to a 2.6.

The jbp header I have has been proven to show gains on mine and Omega5's car and yes it sounds great.
I think you pretty much summed it up for us. If you one of the few who like it and you are removing it off your car, what does that say about the header?

Agreed

Finally given me enough justification to remove mine

It lacks in the bigger blower dept.

If the JBP primaries are unequal in length that's probably why you like the sound of it so much.

Ya it is 1 5/8 primaries, I need bigger. I'd still say it is more then adequate for any m-62 car. Didn't onecoldbiz get over 300hp on m-62 with the jbp header?
