needing a ballast one of mine took a crap after 5 months I don't know what mkulrey13 offers them for? or if he even sells them. He offered a new kit for $150, but I don't feel like spending another 150 on a kit.

I'm almost betting ballast aren't exactly universal?

ballsts are actually 100% universal. Unless it's specfically a d2s ballast which I know you're not using.

Yea their universal but I have 3 kits from BuyHIDs (mulkulry) and the ballast are different on each kit and cause the bulb to be a different color if mixing up the ballasts. To OP Ive bought alot from them and im like you I always had problems after a few months, Im not dissing on buyhids because their customer service is great along with their warranty. I woulda stayed with their kit but it gets annoying taking the bumper on and off. Damn HHRS I just spent the money and went with morimoto's

Are all hids prone to early failure my drivers side still works but now I have a 6k and stock light bah looks like crap!!

If they're causing the bulb to be a different color they are either defective, or putting out the wrong wattage. Ballasts that put out more wattage will cause the color temp to drop (yellower) while ballast that put out less will cause the color temp to go up (bluer). By universal I meant that they all have the same plugs, and will all light up the bulb. If they put out the same wattage or not entirely depends on the quality of the ballast.

Running relays.. hoping to get response from him today I asked about a ballast... I know being a vender you try ti push the new items. I want hids on my other car, but if these are the problems and they last a few months ill convert back.

How does the other kit stack up for quality? That was mentioned above?

We can warranty it. If you had an issue with different ballast you should have contacted us. We dont handle the warranty our factory in cali does. If they sent you a different ballast then we can have the correct one sent... and its clear people do not understand whats going on.

BuyHIDs has moved to HIDwerks. Ownership has switched. New products and HID kits. We carry morimotos, Canbus kits and digital AC kits. Price is higher for the higher quality of the hid kits. No more tiny black ballasts.
