He doesn't have a zfr, he would of done even better if the lnf's trans could take that torque punch. He's a damn good driver, that's why he put the beat down on these cars, its not all about power.

Not saying my car is invincible, but I've had it since about 25,000 miles and I can't seem to break it. It has 78,000 on it currently. I drove the **** out of it on GM Stage 1 from 25,000 to about 42,000 - then I got tuned and have been running it that way since. I NLS it, usually 2-3 and 3-4, but I have been known to NLS 1-2 on drag radials. I switch from E85 to 91 in the winter. It gets fresh extended performance Mobil 1 5w30 every 2500 miles or so. Seafoamed before each oil change also. It gets new plugs every 20k miles. It's on it's 3rd change of transmission fluid also.
It sees 25psi atleast once a day, 7 days a week usually. However, I NEVER take it into boost until coolant temp is over 190. It also never sees more than 2500rpm until warm either. I don't run it hard back to back to back. I don't do WOT pulls from low down in high gears either, always atleast above 3000rpm or higher. It uses no oil between oil changes, doesn't smoke, doesn't miss ever.
I would venture a guess that this car, while in my possession, has seen over 500 pulls on the street and over 80 pulls on the track. How it isn't fucked up is beyond me. *Knock on wood*

Extended mobile one change every 5000
Sparks plug change every 15000
No boosting till 180 unless it's extremely urgent
I try to give her the beans at least once a week because I get better mpg that way.
Sea foam every other oil change
Got 122k on it and been tuned since ~49k
I don't drive like a maniac..but i race and road track it when i get the chance.

It depended a lot on what they were making and if they were boosted or not, but of the few I remember, there was a bone stock C6Z06 and he was around 136-138mph. I talked to a guy with a cam/bolt-on C6Z06 making around 550rwhp and he was mid 140s. Few different S/C Vettes (C5 / C6s) where in the 150s.

If this isn't proof that routine maintenance > any other mod then I don't know what is.
Nice runs, absolutely hilarious to watch a Cobalt SEDAN pull on those cars. lmao

The Springs is a beautiful area, and there is a decent number of cobalts along the front range. It snuck up on me or I would of been down there to spectate, to pricey of an entrance fee for me

That's got to make you feel fucked up when your car gets beaten by a rental car that costs one-tenth as much.
The guy signaling the races is lazy. The outcome versus the M3 would have been different if the dude made it obvious to go.

Congrats, you got me that time for sure. But to clarify, my GT500 is a 2011. Big difference. About 110 hp difference. And your hp estimate is way off. I had fun though and hope we get to do it again next year. Hope you made back to Wyoming ok. Later.

Definitely had fun though! I'll be back next year, probably with a different car.

I thought I caught your name as Matt, or were you Dave? lol Because there in lies my confusion when I checked the roster. You said you were running a different pulley and a tune, so that would put you over 550 crank HP, probably closer to 600ish. Have you dynoed the car with the mods?

Congrats Mike, great job putting it down for Colorado Cobalts!
For those that don't know, they also did roll races. I may participate in those next year. Not a big fan of drag races plus I would suck at launching. But since I recently made an MP4-12C going WOT move over for me (in 5th gear!) I'm hungry to go crush some of those 600+ HP monsters lol

Wish I could hook up the half mile. Might be able to do 170 lol. But that's a fast ass z06 for a cam. My car up to 80 isn't much anymore. After 80 it starts laying it down hard. There was one c6 at the Chicago half that impressed the hell out of me. NA 408 trapped 160ish. I don't know what the elevation is there.
