got the Camaro tuned...
yeah I know "5th gens are overweight"... doesn't mean we won't run mid 12s with a few bolt-ons and a tune
29 Degree L99 Launch on Street Tires 0-85.wmv - YouTube
in 29 degree weather(so a baby launch) on the stock tires
also note the CAI is NOT on the car yet, it was SUPPOSED to be here by now, but still hasn't shipped(coming up on a WEEK since its been ordered and the part isn't even on back order, but that is a whole other issue.....)... I just threw it in the sig because it SHOULD have already been on the car but they are apparently wanting to drag their feet

yeah 6 flat to 70... in 29 degree weather(I.e. pretty much no launch, watch the gauges up to 2000rpm)... slow, lol
you're all more than welcome to go launch your fwd Cobalt in 29 degree weather and get back to me on your 0-70, lol
this is probably the only time this winter the car will actually get launched, I just wanted to see how it'd do...
it ran 13.20s before the tune and a tune is usually a 4-5 tenth gainer through the 1/4 on the L99s, if you want to call that slow, lol

13.20 before tune and they usually take off a half second? but what has the tune done FOR YOU at the strip? if you have not taken it to the strip with the tune dont say what it is supposed to take off that's paper racing! Seems pretty quick but quiet to me...

ok.. It's consistently 29 or under out here, I'll get someone to ride with me an make a video for you one of these days.. I've gone faster than that an my tires are bald as shiiiiiit .... but that did seem very slow... I thought the '10 SS's were V8s tho? That's praly why I thought it was horribly slow
hell, I want to see it on the best street tires you can find... especially in these temps
and one day the weather will warm up and i'll show you a REAL launch...
and its "quite" because the Camaros have great sound protection... this is how "quite" it is:
2010 Camaro SS New Exhaust - YouTube
I guess its quite like it is slow, lol
unfortunately when I try to find videos on youtube of turbo Cobalts launching................half of them are one I posted when I had mine... lol.... all the AdamMC2003 videos on there, they would be me... my car ran mid/low 8s through the 1/8th which was better that MOST of the time slips here... want me to post some of those launches on the street in GOOD weather compared to the Camaro? it would be bus lengths on the street... now the track is one thing, but do you NOT think MAYBE the Camaro will hook better with VHT as well?
talking about what you can do and posting a video of you actually DOING it, two totally different animals... its easy to say you can hit 70 on the street in 6 seconds, now go do it

it does sound a lot meaner outside of the car.. oh an congratulations on runnin 8's in the 1/8th mi and all of your youtube fame.. I get what you're sayin tho "dont talk about it, be about" riight... like I said tho man, I can get one of my buddies to ride with me an make a video whenever.. my tires ARE bald as ****, an when they werent if my speedo looked like yours while I was tryin to take off for "youtube purposes" I'd pop the hood an see if somethin was loose!
You said you used to have a cobalt right? was it an 05 LS? I know you're up on your Camaro seat or whatever (and I DO like these Camaros) but I've wiped the floor with the V6 "SS's" before I knew how to NLS yea, they're fast, but theyre not THAT fast for a Camaro.. My Balt's not THAT fast, but it's very fast for a cobalt
meh... I dont know nobody out here, I'm headin to Allentown tomorrow, I can make a video for you then

1. yeah go race a V6 Camaro... it'll make you seem fast, then put on your big boy pants and step up the food chain, you'll find out its not so easy anymore, lol
and thats IF they are stock... mine pretty much was when it ran 13.20s... even then, on the street.. i'd GLADLY pit it against a tuned/bolt-on LNF Cobalt from a dig... drag racing isn't from a roll... and from a dig, it'd be ugly... and now that is about to have about 30 more whp and a tune? ok, take that race, lol
and here is my "LS" Cobalt on the dyno:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBTLH...gWCATAN707m9fw
from 40-125 fighting for traction:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWSpD...gWCATAN707m9fw
and a SLOWER 0-115:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OucC8...gWCATAN707m9fw
life isn't always on a VHT laced drag strip...
oh wait... you thought because RS is in my sig its a V6.... that 2SS in front, that is kind of important as well
RS is just a package

yeah damn, I wish the Small Block Chevy V8 had the aftermarket of a Cobalt........
</sarcasm>
are we REALLY discussing the potential of the L99 to the Cobalt? hey, watch this, the L99 has been out less than 3 years, it ran in the 9s... the LNF? the LSJ?
2010 Camaro L99 Stock and Tuned - YouTube
^ that would be tune only
hint: I ran FASTER than their pre tune run when I was pre-tune, lol
I mean no doubt you can gain a lot with a Cobalt with a tune, and full bolt-on with a tune... it'll be a 12.7-12.80 car IF YOU ARE A DAMN GOOD DRIVER, it might be a mid 13 second car, lol... a L99 will get there with a tune... full bolt-on? you're hoping for 11s, lol

well, if all goes as PLANNED. this year, i'll get the Longtubes(here in a few months) and start to save... next year, i'm either going to do the fast 102mm intake with nick williams TB, Texas Speed Stage II VVT cam with non-AFM lifters and a little spray... or save on up and go D1SC... its about $4000 compared to about $6000... I love prochargers though, people call them dated, there is a REASON they were one of the 1st and yet are STILL popular
i'll put a D1SC on 6psi up against your TVS 2300 on 10psi all day EVERY day
I usually get back close to $5k at tax season(lots of deductions) but this year, i'm paying my ATV off and going ahead and finishing off my student loan... so no play money this year... but unless things change in the course of the year, NEXT YEAR, i'm going to play with it
not enough guys are spraying the L99 right now for me to get a verdict on that... I mean being that every other SBC loves nitrous, i'd like to THINK it'd be ok... but only a handfull are doing it, and while I haven't seen anyone blow one sky high with nitrous yet, still don't exactly trust it right now, lol...
I remember the few guys that tried to spray LNFs, RIP those engines, lol

ahh... I see, I dunno why I thought you had the V6 one, maybe it was jus the video I dont yell at people to race me from a dig or from a roll, but usually both happens. I've never lined up against the V8's but I'm down I'm glad you ran a 13.2, I ran a 13.6 before my tune got dialed in, on balding stock tires, a passenger, an a car FULL of ****... I mean since we're jus throwin **** out there right?
Ima make this big so you can get it..
YOUR FIRST VIDEO WAS SLOW

as I said, since its so "slow".... get in your Cobalt... go out launch it on the street in the winter.... prove me wrong.... and i'll be waiting
don't be a keyboard warrior, this day and age since everyone has a smartphone(which I recorded mine with), you can come up with a video QUICKLY
show me a slip of your 13.5... here is my 13.2
i'll be waiting on you to pull a 2.0 60' on your street tires even on a prepped track....

Lol....you post a vid of your camaro on a....wait a sec...oh yeah a COBALT forum. Then get all butt hurt when people tell you it looks slow? Then you proceed to go on about why the camaro is far superior in racing...
Isnt there like 9000 camaro forums you could be on?
And before you say anything..I drive a LT so no fast numbers here. Its a gas mileage car.
