got the Camaro tuned...
#26
yeah I dont like the new camaro's. I remember when I was a kid I wanted a 90's Camaro really bad but I dont like the styling of the new ones.
Anyway, it did seem a little slow. I don't know, I don't drag race all that much but I expected a tuned V8 would be in mid to high 12's.

as I said, since its so "slow".... get in your Cobalt... go out launch it on the street in the winter.... prove me wrong.... and i'll be waiting
don't be a keyboard warrior, this day and age since everyone has a smartphone(which I recorded mine with), you can come up with a video QUICKLY
show me a slip of your 13.5... here is my 13.2
i'll be waiting on you to pull a 2.0 60' on your street tires even on a prepped track....

I thought this was funny... in your "slower" vid, you went from 0-70 in 8 seconds in your"slobalt" as oppose to your 7 second 0-70 in the supaquik tuned 2SS Camaro... jus pointin out some stuff
meh.. Ima see if I can dig it out... 2.0 would be a great 60' in the balt.. I'm not really... thaaaat impressed for a camaro.. Even when I got 13 whatevers, I had horrible 60's but I always trapped 110+.. usually ~115 mph or higher... but I'm not gonna be a keyboard warrior an talk about my car that you used to have like you have no idea what they're capable of..

....launching the Cobalt IN THE SUMMER, lol... if you don't think there is a difference between 75 degree weather and 29 degree weather, well, by all means... compare the two videos... also you do realize a second to 80 is about 2-3 car lengths... right? and that is with the Camaro being VERY limited in traction... the weather will warm up, we'll try it again

I dunno, I do like the new camaro's, my dad brought home a 2SS with a 6Spd Standard and I tell ya when you floored it at high revs it really gave your head a smack.
It did haul ass, and seeing as I've never driven a CobaltSS/TC I cant compare, but the V8 camaro with a standard really can haul some ass
My favourite though is still a fourth gen (1998-2002) V8 F-bodies.. they are just teh sex

here is a 0-118... according to Vegas Video:
0-110 in 13.1 seconds in 39 degree weather on a non-prepped street... and I still can't launch it 100%, lol...
2010 Camaro SS L99 0-118 in 39 degree weather... - YouTube
it gets 115 in 14.47 seconds, only about 2.5 seconds faster than the turbo Cobalt did... lol
guys, I've owned both cars... it'd be ugly, lol

So what's Ure car compared to a properly HPtuned l99 camaro?
Average basline horsepower for a auto l99 is 305-315whp and 325-340tq ... Now take into consideration of how heave the tank is compared to a properly tuned balt with just a downpipe. It would be close ..
Tuned l99s are hallucination around 320-350whp. And 350-390ft lbs. And this is usually with a intake and exaust work. Now this is just a average not the most or not the least. If a cobalt hooks up then it'll be a damn good race and more then likely the balt wins .. its nothing against your car but your making your car to be way quicker then it truly is.................

For the record, mid 8's in the 1/8th is pretty quick but nothing to brag about in an SS/TC, As ive dont those times in an LSJ powered IRL a few YEARS back! new vid sounds alot better! Happy modding!

actually about 315-320whp is the norm, about 340whp with a tune only... about 350-355whp with a tune/intake... about 385whp with tune/intake/headers/high flow mids...
if you look at the L99 thread on Camaro 5, its like 11 pages long and some of the early numbers from 2009 were depressing, until people learned about the fuse pull.... because these cars don't correct back to a higher octane if a lower octane of fuel is ran, the car basically goes into "limp" mode... yes its real, yes it will make your 0-60 to go in the 6 second range and yes you will dyno less than 300whp, lol... pull the fuses over night, keep 93 in the tank... you'll put down close to 320whp
its not all about the whp though, with the 6-speed automatic, 385whp is enough to put these cars damn near in the 11s, and in the 11s with a stall and DRs on 18s(can get ET streets then, they don't make them in a 20)
and I have no doubt that a LNF Cobalt bolt-on/tune and myself would be a DAMN good race from a roll... when I had the Cobalt, i'd straight walk stock L99 Camaros from a roll... and even now, it'd be neck and neck... however, back then, i'd been neck and neck with a STOCK L99 from a dig, I had better nail the launch or i'd have been starting 2-3 cars in the hole with the Cobalt... and now, I just wouldn't take the race without DRs and that is if the Camaro stays off of them, lol
yeah, that was homeschool(cody), Josh, lol
he sold that car and now has a 'Vert '02 Vette... I'm not joking, about a week after the thrashing at the track, he had the car up for sale, lol.. he now has a Ls6 intake(though that came on the '01s and '02s), headers, and Corsa exhaust on his vette already, still stock tune and its a M6.... i've been trying to get him to let Vince work his magic and he may yet...
for reference the "yellow" car in that slip was a guy I know in a Comptech Supercharge Honda S2000 on 12 psi with bolt-ons... guess I should have also pointed out, that slip was late October in high 40 degree weather, lol(Josh, aka Bamaboy22 can back me on that, he was there).. now given, the difference is that launch was on a prepped track(though limited prep, midnight Madness at Steele, once its gone they don't apply more VHT)

he went there hoping to run mid-12s... and his best on the night was a 13.3x... lol
