How To - Cartoon

Stick this or whatever you want..

PHOTOSHOP HOW TO only, If you have some other silly program you are SOL.

Ok, I have gotten many question regarding this process.

I will make it easy but basically some pictures are better candidates than other.

Start With
1. Day Shots
2. Clean Car (The Reflection off the paint and windows help sell the image)

SAVE YOUR WORK AS DIFERNT NAMES OFTEN (HDD Space is Free)

Start with as High Resolution as you can.

Open the file and in Layer Menu Select “New Layer”
Make sure that all of your work is done on this layer. Don’t worry, if you **** it up, you will start over again and trust me, you never do it again.

-Select the Pencil Tool (Hot Key B) and set it to 1mm.
-Make sure that the Pencil will be Black
-Zoom in a lot to make sure that your lines are true. The closer you are, the better it will be.
-Start tracing the outside of the car and any major change in color such as a reflection in the window or a body panel like on my hood where there are major vent grooves.
-Make sure that all of your “Cells” are closed so they will not bleed out.

You will find that the H and B Hotkeys are your friends (Hand Tool & Pencil Tool)
Use them to move and draw under zoom.

All lines should be as fluid and straight as possible. If you mess up, use undo. (CTRL+Z)
Work long lines in simple short sections so if you have to undo, you will not loose all your work.

You can check your work on the “Layers” sub window by off clicking the Eye icon.
You can use the eraser to erase major faults in the lines and then re-draw them.

Once you have all the cells done. Use the “Eye-Dropper” (Hot Key I) and the “Paint Fill” (Hot Key G) to fill the cells in.

You will get the hang of it.

Once Done, Save the Job and Shift+Ctrl+E to Merge the two layers.

Alt+I+I to Resize
Save As… Jpg format.
