Sorry but I think that's just stupid... just leave the CAI the way it was

actually that isnt that bad of an idea.. now if the guy takes out the fog light and couples the pipe to the opening. he will have a true ram air intake...

trust me... ill be the first to knock him for stupid ****.. this is actually not that bad of an idea

That's pretty much as close as I was able to get. But I want fog lights so I won't do that

I can't see the open end of the airbox supply pipe, but it looks like it's either buried against the back of the facia or has some kind of cap on it. Where does that pipe open up to?

Cause it's close to the facia. Like I said above, that black thing is just to prevent rain water from getting into the pipe from the crack of the headlight opening. It's not against the facia though. The end is open freely with no obstruction.

I don't get the point of all that though? CAI would do the samething with less restrictions and probably even colder air

I'm an idiot huh? I missed the sound of the SRI I didn't like the CAI. So I put the SRI back. But instead of wasting money by not using the pipes I bought I put them to use by mimicking the air resonator with the pipes which basically does the same with less restriction and more cooler air. IF you had read, I said that no it's not as cool as a CAI would be, BUT yes it definitely grabs cooler air than it would with or without the resonator. The gmpp intake is made to work by forcing to suck air thru a hole in the bottom of the air box. It leads to the pipe I put in there. So now it's sucking from the fender. And cooler air. So who's the idiot now? It's called USING MY HEAD.

actually ram air from a cold air source is a tad bit better then a cold air intake. see on are cars the cold air intake will only get you with in 4 degrees of ambient temp. a ram air is not only forcing air into the intake via the pressure cause by the speed of the car but is creating a direct supply to outside air. if you want i can go out to my car and run a data log to prove this..

that would be the point of that.

If I raced I could easily hook the pipe up to the fog light but since I don't I guess I could leave it how it is but at least I HAVE the option.

very true not to mention you think your intake sounds sick now.. wait till you standing outside of a car that has the intake running to the fog light assembly loud as hell

I like your current set-up CC08. Just ignore the ignorant ass holes that are calling you names.

I may try to do something similar but run the open piping to a grill opening or somewhere to grab more air.

That's pretty much the best location I can get. Pipes aren't bendable lol. And also the more bends the more air flow restriction as well.

Man the threads on css.net just get better and better. Bottom line dude, do what you want, but using parts just because you don't want to "Waste the money" isn't the greatest idea. Just think your parts out next time.

CC08: you got owned in my intake topic

Where exactly did I get owned?

I got a "ram-air CAI" anyway so who cares :-)
