Besides everyones opinions theres some facts involved.
With good drivers
STI (stock) 1/4: 13.4
whp: 240-250 (although advertised by Subaru that the sti is 300hp IT IS NOT!!!)
SS S/C (stock) 1/4: 14.4
whp: 210-215
SS S/C (S2) 1/4: 13.5 - 14.0
whp: 235-245
Let's say for comparisons sake that the stock STI and a S2 SS have the same (a)whp
While the STI runs 13.4 in the 1/4 that is b/c of AWD an amazing launch which is much easier in a AWD can lead to awesome 1/4 times. BUT from a roll with the same hp this could be anyones race.
For those arguing if a stock STI (240-250 awhp) went up against let's say Matty finch (294 whp) from a roll. The STI would lose. From a dig with both cars having good launches 294 will eventually catch 240-250.

All we need to confirm this are timeslips, once provided, all will be solved
That video proves nothing. And lets just say, that STi owner spends 1000, (thats all stage2 costs), he gets into mid-high 12s, which again=game over :P

looks like its time for me to chime in on this non-sence.
first off GOOD KILL, I will give you that before i start to nit-pick.
if that was inded a 300ZX TT then its by and far the weekist one i've ever seen,I've seen many 300's run low 12's on stock turbo's, infact a close friend of mine owns a 300 that will do just that.
the 300's with a full turboback exhast as you clamed would make at the very least SOME exhast noise..the one you raced made no such noise so i must question that.
also it sounded alot like an auto(no nose dip or shifting sound in cabin) if that is true then god only know's how man miles are on that car and what kinda shape the trans is.
as you stated earlyer he had a rebuilt engine...but that rebuild with no trans work(or clutch if it is indeed a stick) means nothing. I for example was a prime example of that...i prob had the most powerfull 2.7pully cobalt due to the exstencive tuneing but i was driveing that car with a stock sliping clutchand that put a huge limit on my track times...a 2.760ftr cuz the clutch wont grap but high trap speeds once she got roolin. have the time slips to prove such things...a 2.7car runing a high, high, high 13 or very low 14 but i had 105-106mph trap speeds.
so his drivetrain must be considerd.
also inregards to that "fastist in western canada" line in your sig...you may want to provide a time slip to back that up. your call on that one.
also that was some awesome clutch slip on that 1-2shift...i remeber when my car did that on almost every shift...get a new clutch and you'll be suprised just how much your looseing thro it.
good kill once agen tho.
EDIT----
in regards to your deat set mind on beating an STi...i wish you luck with that.
that car is no slouch(sp?) any guy with some time and money in to there STi(say a cobb stg2 or a protune) would gladly do a real race with you(from a dig) and you sir would not catch him before the 1/4.
theres a few runing around here that are quite mean....2of them have givein me a hard time from a roll and thats saying something(if your up on the kills i've posted you'll understand why i say that)

"I showed my buddies, they think your gay"
wow.
STi's are fast stock, but they are only putting around 260 to the wheels. I'm putting down around 280ish and have compeltly walked a few, adn from a dig, it's close dpending on how far we go. Also, about the same times at the track. O yea, my ION cost a good 10k less AFTER mods.
So sit down and shut up. Seriously, grow up.

I have spent about 19k on my car... after mods.
A Z06 would WALK a damn STi, from a dig or anything, STOCK. But it's more than twice the price so what's the point of even comparing it?

haven't watched the video, just read all of the pages of what not....
Friend of mine has a 1990 300zx TT, full turbo back exhaust, downpipes, HKS intercoolers, intakes, and also a E-manage. It just rolled over 100k on motor, trans, and turbos. Its a stick. He has a profec-b, and his high boost is setting is set at 17psi. The factory rear-end gear holds these cars back in my opinion. I believe the ratio is a 3.5x something.
The car is running 19" rears, and 18" fronts, with full coilovers. The car has run a best of 14.0 at the track, which was a good while back. On the highway the thing tops out at redline in the 180's.
He's raced some fairly decent cars from a roll, and from a dead stop, and beat, and lost to them. The car is fairly fast, but I'd attempt a race against him with some minor modifications....
Nice kill by the way.

I walked a 300ZX/TT when I was stock.
You definitely need to work on your launchs. That race from a dig was just ******* aweful. Your shift into second gear was way too slow and you rode the clutch like it owed you child support.

A STOCK sti comes with 300 AWHP, you retard. www.google.com coulda told you that. You sir, can definately NOT keep up. I hate people like you who can't get real with yourself. Stock vs stock, STis would absolutely crush you. With your mods, its a better race, but from a dig the STis AWD would just crush you. An STi with money that you invested into it, would destroy you hands down.
matty, you make NO SENSE, GO TO THE TRACK and get us some timeslips, traction>you. street racing and recording a vid is for ****, and if you posted that vid in my local auto club forums, you would be flamed forever.
