1. Read entire thread..I have said several times its a wip. Being said....I have 3 trips in this car down the 1/4...I will get better...that time is with no weight reduction.....and fewer mods. With experience I will do better.

2. Calm down....enjoy this pic...just for you.

3. Hate on sir.......all in good fun. If you dont like my car and as such feel the need to slam me on a forum...well lol....thats on you.

it seems like everything would work great, for a track car. a street car... i don't see it being practical. but other than the hood and wheels i really don't see much wrong. i would ditch that giant heavy ass front mount for a griffin. hvac delete and switch to an electric water pump to get rid of all the lines and what not.

whats wrong with the hood? I have seen other members with them and it was all good. the clear is peeling a lil. I am gonna westsand it down, and reclear in the next week or so. maybe a different color?

the wheels were a bad choice....but they have grown on me......5 spoke 17" steelies are stout

any suggestion?

i'm yet another member with mixed opinions (yes i read the whole thread) and remember this is all IMO, sorry to offend anyone

if you're going for a sleeper, which kinda seems to be the case, i guess ur doing it ...right

but i could never look at my car with a straight face withuot the LIP on the front bumper and the LIP on the rear bumper, they really help pull the look of the car together and without it... just a slowbalt look. noone races slowbalts. would be a nice suprise tho.

the hood u got only looks good on a complete ss package, now ur car looks topheavy

u painted over ur hvac numbers and symbols, very nice.

never liked the rims

cool color

door handles are cool

i dunno. make it moar faster

I'm a fan, the problem with the Cobalts have always been that they are too heavy...

Glad to see someone has sorted that out.

Toss the rear metal bumper, ussually like 20lbs and its exactly where you don't want weight on a FWD. I wouldn't do this if you still plan on having backseat passangers, which leads me to my next point, pull the back seats.

If you ever get rear ended so hard the rear of the car makes it to the front seats, odds are that little piece of stamped metal was gonna do little to help ya out. Then you can make holes in the bumper too!

IPG and Golden Eagle make the nice metal trim pieces for cutting holes, I have the IPG one and they are nice.

You know what a rat rod is right...........? And I would love to see the weight difference between the two seats lol your reason being leather is heavier than cloth is asinine

I know what a ratrod is - you need a shifter up near the roofline, fat rear tires, it spits flames, maybe flat black paint or intentionally destroyed paint, etc.

oh and its gotta be fast with a racoon tail hangin from the back

i vote poll to see how ppl like it

Interesting idea. Kind of cool to see someone go this drastic. Its quite different from the majority of Cobalts out there. Kudos for being different.

I do like the door handle straps- they're different and add a bit of colour to the inside (and the chrome will peel at some point anyways lol)

I do not like the hood. Its ugly. A carbon fibre oem hood would look better.

I like the silver G6 steelies. Black makes them look kind of ordinary. Also, these rims I know for a fact are heavy as hell, so I would look at some nice lightweight 17s instead.

Don't understand why you painted over the HVAC controls, but even still it looks good and its not like its impossible to figure out without the little icons.

I would have gone with the black LT cloth seats if you really didn't want leather.

Radio block off plate is cool.

Its funny seeing the inside with almost nothing in it.

Overall, like I said I'm a fan. Just a couple things here and there I would change.

i just would have gone with an oem cf one thats all. with that hood, the lack of front and rear lips, no front lower grill, and steal wheels. it all just looks, unfinished, and ugly.

Oh God that poor SS!! what I would have given a while ago to have a nice S/C SS, and you went a head and ruined it! thats not a rat rod, its a once cool lookin pocketrocket that you've slapped base model bumpes/seats on and screwed with the interior and put steelies on for no reason at all... thats not even substantial weight reduction...

if you really wanted to loose weight to race you would have completely gutted the interior besides one racing seat.

To clarify.....rat rod was a bad choice of words lol. I admit that.

BUT.

I am trying to be different too.....have a lead on some Corvette sawblades here.....see how that goes.

Update: Had to replace the timing chain tensioner as my new one was apparently garbage. So I took the v/c off to make sure no damage was done and to make sure the chain doesnt jump time. Took that time to paint the v/c wrinkle black...also mirror covers will be gloss back.
