My cobalt
Decided to start an on-going thread with my car from start to it's eventual finish, chronicling it's "life" so to speak, and to keep track of what I've done to it over the 2 and a half years or so of ownership up until it dies which is hopefully never lol. All I can say is that after 2 and half years, and 39k miles, I love this car more and more(as gay as that sounds). It has given me very little in terms of trouble(fried ECU and that's it) and is a blast to drive.
I wanted this car since I read about rumors of it on the internet, I called up at least 10 dealers and finally tracked down one who knew wtf the LNF was. So I ordered it! My order fell through, but there was one that was unspoken for, so I drove over and it was put on hold for me. Got the check, went to the dealer and dropped it off, and the car was officially mine. After 2 months of waiting it arrived.
Too bad the dealer put 70 miles on it before I was able to pick it up...:/
Went to my first cobalt meet ever, met some strangeee people
First modifications were tinting the windows, black bowtie, got rid of the bowtie on the rear, k&N drop in filter, and a hp tune(shitty first tune blah). Drove it up the mountains right after!
Got a good photographer to take some decent shots
And then it was rear-ended by a guy in a Z06
But it was soon fixed and good as new Got my wheels powdercoated gloss black for Christmas, and a muffler delete also.
ignore the 4X4 status
Removed that ugly front plate
Lowered it on H&R sport springs, also got powergridinc adjustable sway bar end links
Got a wingless trunk and painted the headlight housing black
After several retunes from many different people, finally settle on my fav tuner ever, and got a Megan Catless downpipe.
Car felt SOO good after that...catless dp has to be the best thing you can do for this car
Got a triple gauge pillar, and dual interceptors, with black pillars(to go with my eventual black suede roof liner)
Powdercoated plum crazy Brembos by Mr. John Powell
Had to remove the tint due to too many tickets..but it is going back on again soon.
Got a Powell street sway bar, and OTTP Stage 2 rotated mounts(both awesome)
And this is how the car sits now
Retrofits are sitting my room awaiting paint, A Black bowtie outlined in purple(Thanks David!!!) going to be buying Dunlop starspecs, and finally continuing the big turbo process after spending $ on other things. Far from my original intention of keeping the car bone stock. It's hard not to do anything to it. Anyways...I was bored at work and made this, and will add to it as I add more things to the car. A lot ppl have helped me with it over these past years and I appreciate it very much and have learned a lot. This car means a lot to me, I met a lot of cool people due to it, and it also technically got me my job! I hope everyone's cobalt experience is as good as mine has been lol.
