My New Toy (Bike)
#26
I rode bikes from the day i was able to ride them. up until last year when i sold my 2001 YZF R6 Limited edition to buy my cobalt ss/sc
I never dropped a bike. ever, but there were plenty of close calls.
theres a few things that go into it.
1, I got my licence when i was in Australia, and they are far stricter (and smarter IMO) on their motorcycle laws....since there are FAR more of them around due to the killer weather.
When you go for your learners in australia, its not some punk ass multiple choice quiz. its a 3 day compulsary course. the skills and information I learned there were invaluable.
while on your learners, and provisional bike license, you are not allowed to ride a bike higher than 500cc. this flat out saves lives. theres TONS of 250cc crotch rockets in australia, and they are great little bikes, and really great to learn on.
every year i hear so many radio announcements.
16 year old motorcyclist killed.....just got his licence....riding a brand new 1000cc
and yet no one seems to pay any attention. oh well.
lastly, one of the reasons i never dropped a bike, was because i never catwalk.
Ever.
laugh all you want. catwalking = roasted bikes. end of story.
Good choice going with a 600 to learn. stay safe. and keep both wheels on the pavement.

I just got my first bike last weekend. It's an 07 R6. I think it is a lot of bike for a beginner, and it does scare me some. I definately have respect for it and I plan on being easy on the throttle all season. Next year I might get a little more aggressive but this year I'm going to try to just cruise around and familiarize myself with it. I don't want to lay it down, but as previously posted, **** happens 9 times out of 10 when it comes to bikes. Sad part is a lot of it is due to other people not seeing us. If you find yourself getting cocky and overconfident turn it back a notch. The biggest reason I picked this bike is because I didn't want to outgrow a smaller one really quick, which a lot of my friends and family have done. Take the safety courses and be safe!
Forgive my mess. New house too, still unpacking!

Ya no catwalks for me man.. I dont wanna be a) screwing up my bike and hurting myself 2) getting charged for careless driving..
Ya I am taking a safety course which is 3 days long.. 2 8 hour days and 1 3 hour day.... I choose to take it, not forced.. So this is good cause I wanna learn properly and I wanna know how I can help try to prevent myself from getting killed...
Nice bike Forced.. Like I said I would have gotten brand new but I just couldn't see myself doing that for a first bike.. I am happy with mine..

This is an old pic...I am too lazy to go downstairs and take a new pic...but it has a PUIG double bubble in dark smoke, no cut frame sliders and a Two Bros. VALE shorty exhaust now...one of these days I'll post some more pics up
And yes I got all the gay stickers/gay reflectors off lol
Along with the 600 stickers too...

I got a 05 636, but if i could get my hands on an orange 10r, I would be all over it. Love the "old" 10s. Hated the new body style when they first came out, but they are growing on me. Especially the black and red special edition. Although, they didnt use red forks on the 10 like they did the 6, which was slightly disappointing.
