This is for you guys with supercharged 2.2's and manual transmissions. I'm thinking about getting a ZZP supercharged for my G5, when I'm done restoring the truck, and I've got a question or two.

I've heard the 2.2's manual tranny isn't the greatest when it comes to power. Do they hold up to a supercharger? I'm only looking at doing a stage 1 charger, with down pipe, high flow cat, and cat back. I'm hoping to get in the 170-200hp area, nothing spectacular. Not looking to race the car, got a truck for that. I just want the car to be a little more interesting to drive.

What can I do besides full on rebuild to make it capable? Is it the internals of the trans that can't stand up or just the clutch?

Looking for a little help here, Not my first performance vehicle, but my first fwd, 4 cyl.

i'm on stock tranny with my set up. clutch was fine on 8 psi but i replaced it when i had the motor out to build the bottom end. from what i've read the f23 is stronger than the f35 stock for stock, there are 10 second cavaliers with the f23 and just a team green insert lsd

Ok, thanks guys. I'm probably going to do this, this summer once my old truck is done and on the road. I just wanted to make sure before I went a head and did the supercharger. I'll have about 6months to enjoy it before I sell it to my brother and buy my parents G8 GT, but still wanted to do it, just because and I know my brother will enjoy it. But then again he'll just be happy to get rid of his Focus.

whatever floats your boat, but just that bumper makes a huge difference imo. Look at 1lowls or drumrush.

it was the newer body style sti, so how does it say wrx sti on it then? All in all id rather have my car over the sti. They aint that fast and the power comes on late and doesnt last long at all. I like my turbos full spool at 3600-8k.

Subaru's got the impreza wrx and the wrx sti (for an extra 10 or so grand)

so if he has an STi, don't insult him by saying it's a wrx

That looks sexy as hell for a base model, even for a non-base model.
