I actually have an ss TC in my area for sale at 10grand...same minor mods as what I have, except the tires are finished. I'm definitely interested, but don't know if I should go from cobalt to cobalt ahaha. I'll be the reverse of Padlock (going from a Victory Red base model, to a Black TC)
I'd do it if I were you, but I've been pondering the same thing, there just aren't any for sale locally... Other than the tires how is it?

There's a tiny dent between the rear window and the side window (like that beam near the roof). But it's fully loaded, limited slip diff, black, gen 4 headlights, clean, mostly debadged and 70,000 km on the odometer....which is less than what I have!

If you can get a good dollar for your base model, and you dont mind the cobalt platform I'd say go for it. I had my chance available and had to take it when I had the offer sitting in front of me. (id be kicking myself if I didnt sell my base model when I did, but thats just my case. Yours may be different)

well on the way coming back from the gym just now. (too bad my phone had just died) a new silverado(pretty sure the 5.3) crew cab lowered with hids is leaving too. and we are going down the highway and all of a sudden he flys by and probably does 100 in a 55. im like **** that lol. so we both roll up to a light and come to almost a rolling stop. i punch it and so does he. i had him by a nose till 65 then he started pulling. i backed off at 70 in a 65 not worth a ticket lol. didnt think the base 2.2 with just an intake and muffler could do that good.
just a recent pic

If the price is right I'd say go for it! I never regretted going from cobalt to cobalt.. The car is exactly what I expected it to be and for how new they are they provide a bang for the buck no other car can really at the moment.. My MPG hasn't really been affected much either in all honesty, which is pretty awesome considering how I drive the SS..

if you were to just bolt on a K04 untuned you would screw yourself bad, theres not enough fuel or anything to support the boost, and your car won't meeter the new increased air flow, you might kill your car and its going to run like complete **** lol

just make sure its not one of those "its too good to be true kinda things"
you get what you pay for sometimes, BUT sometimes you also get really lucky.. so just be smart about it is all you really gotta make sure you do. you should know what to look for seeing as you own a cobalt already. really the only difference is the powertrain, that of which if its stock it should be running 15psi of boost and just look to see if any oil is leaking around the valve cover, which it shouldnt but sometimes they have had that issue. other than that there isnt too much to look out for! so good luck!

damn! thanks for that expertise. I'll make sure to ask the owner for more info. The ad shows a lot of pictures, but not much detailed info.. I can deal with aesthetics, but I want it to run as smooth and as reliable as my DD right now.
again, this all goes assuming I sell my base model this thursday..
